JaredC 6 Posted January 12, 2010 6 shooter.... barrell folds down to the front to reload... what make / model / year thanks
sparny524 0 Posted January 12, 2010 not sure what make/model/year. But I do know it's an old cap and ball pistol. Shoots a round ball with blackpowder as the propellant, percussion caps as your primer. I like to state the obvious
coldsolderjoint 84 Posted January 13, 2010 Kind of looks like an 1849 wells fargo.. but I'm not sure about the folding barrel part.
Guest Posted January 13, 2010 any markings ? - definitely not a colt - look at front face of cylinder , i can't figure out the round holes at outer edge -
Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted January 13, 2010 i can't figure out the round holes at outer edge - Pure speculation on my part, but since the barrel on this isn't long enough to have an underbarrel ramrod/seating lever, there must have been some type of separate tool/lever to do this. Maybe those circular indentations were used to locate one leg of the lever when seating the ball(?) Adios, Pizza Bob
Guest Posted January 13, 2010 never saw any loading tool that used holes drilled in cyl. on any black powder pistol - most used a lever on the base pin w/cylinder removed - look at the casting flaw where lower barrel boss meets with the frame , could this be a replica of some kind ? -
tt-33 8 Posted January 13, 2010 I think sherriff models used the cylinder pin to force rounds in chambers while cylinder was removed from gun
JaredC 6 Posted January 13, 2010 any markings ? - definitely not a colt - look at front face of cylinder , i can't figure out the round holes at outer edge - no markings on it anywhere.... metal is definitely oxidized.... the round holes at the outer edge might be decorative? im just curious to know what year and model it is.... im a newbie when it comes to this stuff
Guest Posted January 14, 2010 try putting a magnet on it + see if it sticks - might be a zinc replica -
djg0770 481 Posted January 14, 2010 try putting a magnet on it + see if it sticks - might be a zinc replica - +1, especially with the casting marks still visible on the trigger guard.

sonman 0 Posted January 16, 2010 i would be very suprised if this is a real gun, my vote is it's a replica. what is with the screw (which doesn't look real anyways) right in the side of the barrel.
