Ray Ray 3,566 Posted February 1, 2010 I put the good stuff in military ammo cans in case we gotta bounce, and the plinking stuff in the safe for added weight.
moparman426 5 Posted February 2, 2010 I have an ammo can that I bought at a flea market for $5 many years ago. just used it for display until i got my first gun, now it holds my .22 ammo. Its good because it has the rubber ring to keep moisture out... since i store my ammo in the basement.
docwalt 1 Posted February 2, 2010 I keep mine in the cookie jar, and next to the skeletons in the closet.
cuervo25_1 0 Posted February 2, 2010 I stated I used military ammo cans. I forgot to mention I keep the ammo in their boxes and leave enough room for a descendant bag. I have thought about making trays with holes drilled in them that slide down in the ammocans.
Chad 3 Posted February 2, 2010 I know those ammo cans are supposed to be water and air tight, but whenever I open one up that has been sitting for a while it has a musty mildew smell....I think I should get some bags too.
DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted February 2, 2010 Store ammo in the safe all along the walls, firearms in the middle. It's getting really tight in there! Also use one of these "rechargeable" dessicant canisters: http://www.silica-gel.eu/engels/sg750-en.html Every month or so I toss it in the oven for a couple of hours to recharge it. Caine 147 Posted February 2, 2010 I just bought something similar for my safe the other day: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H0 ... ss_product Only been in there a couple days, so don't have an opinion yet, but I liked that I could just plug it in and not have to deal with the oven. PeteF 1,044 Posted February 2, 2010 But we are talking ammo, if the guns are locked up....? Wait till the curious young one borrows a round and brings it to school for show and tell. If you got kids, best to lock everything.
