mikeyboyeee 66 Posted February 25, 2011 I would venture a guess and say he is either taking shootnj's Personal Protection inside the home course this weekend or took it last weekend. Then he did drugs and posted about it on here
cold shot 1 Posted February 25, 2011 LOL That's what Gene was trying to say. The use of a baby (doll, of course) is part of a simulation you would go through in NRA's PPIH.
Genewarper111 18 Posted February 25, 2011 LOL That's what Gene was trying to say. The use of a baby (doll, of course) is part of a simulation you would go through in NRA's PPIH. and 100 points to COLDSHOT!! seriously - yes it's part of a simulation we run after we're sure the candidates have passed through the NRA part of the course. It involves (pretending to) calling the police, issuing a warning, firing, moving to the baby (yes, a doll...) shielding the baby from the alleged bad guy, shooting again, bringing the baby with you to cover and then firing a last time. Everyone loves it. Happy Shooting! G
PK90 3,570 Posted February 26, 2011 "blade the baby!" So why are you killing the baby?
Genewarper111 18 Posted February 26, 2011 "blade the baby"... hold the baby close to your body using your weak side arm, then take aim with the firearm on the strong side, putting the whole of your body between the target and the baby, turning your body like the blade of a knife. We don't advocate applying a blade TO the baby.... (as if you didn't know....) G
tommy3rd 132 Posted February 26, 2011 they teach you to shield the baby, but do they say anything about their hearing? should that also be a concern?
shootnj 0 Posted February 26, 2011 The babies hearing is not the main concern here. The person with the weapon in the babies room is. Blading the baby will decrease some of the shock wave from the gun fire and offer some protection. This is basically a IDPA type drill we do after the Personal Protection in the Home Course to put all of what the students have just learned into practice. GAPP 11 Posted March 6, 2011 they teach you to shield the baby, but do they say anything about their hearing? should that also be a concern? We talk about keeping hearing protection for all members of the family in the safe room... but in this mock scenario, youre using a firearm to protect youself and your child... and in that situation, you really dont have time to call 'time out' so you can put on ear protection.
