BRaptor 68 Posted July 22, 2011 Ohio CCW posted this the other day. If we were to ever get CCW here in NJ, THIS is exactly why we should fight against the inclusion of any "Notification" Laws.
Dan 177 Posted July 22, 2011 Just watched this right before you posted. Albeit the people do look suspicious, but that is no excuse for how they were all treated. Especially the CCW holder / driver of the vehicle. The threats and things that came out of that LEO's mouth are absurd. I love the part on how he leactured the CCW holder that he should have pumped 10 rounds from his Glock 40 into him, and how his parter would be a good witness to the "execution". This guy needs to be taken off the streets before someone gets hurt and more people's rights are violated. In addition, I'd like to know what RAS they had to institute an non-consented to search of the vehicle in the first place. Terry allows for a search of the driver's immediate area for weapons, but that other cop was digging all around.

Oh, there's so much that these two Badge-Clowns did wrong, it would take 2 hours to write it up. From telling the "prostitute" to never come back to the area, to the search, to all of the threats to the CCW holder...it would be a long list.
tony357 386 Posted July 22, 2011 Not good, I suspect that officer will loose his job.. I hate getting pulled over by cops like that makes it hard for the good ones..
BlackOps Badger 52 Posted July 22, 2011 I had to stop watching it. That cop is a bully, plain and simple. He is the reason why cops are called pigs, fascists, nazis, etc. Do these guys not know that they are being recorded? Why would you ever say anything like that to someone on a stop? Especially someone that is not resisting or being beligerant towards you? I just don't get it. As soon as any cop gets an attitude like this they shouldn't be in that career. For example I've worked for a few years as a bouncer. Some people that I would work with were ridiculous and would choke people out for the smallest thing, and they enjoyed it. Wrong attitude for the job. Fired. We don;t need that kind of thing. And, I understand its a dangerous job being a cop, but you chose the profession. You knew that when you went through the academy. If you think the going berserk is going to keep you safe you're wrong. You wanna make sure you're gonna get home to your family at the end of your shift? Become an accountant. /rant

The tiniest percentage of cops are like this douchebag. The VAST majority are good guys and gals.
BlackOps Badger 52 Posted July 22, 2011 I'm relaxed now. lol. The video just got the blood boilin. I don't like bullies. I know it's only a small percentage of cops that are like this. Like I said in my OP, I have friends that are cops. Bullies just get me goin, ya know? lol
Notsobittybuddha 1 Posted July 22, 2011 Here's an article about it, Apparently the cop is on indefinite suspension as of last month because of this. http://jalopnik.com/5823543/cop-threatens-to-execute-driver-over-concealed-weapon-permit
Maksim 1,504 Posted July 22, 2011 As crazy as the stories are... the LEO just acted out of line. I am surprised Officer 2 did not say something to the main douchebag. When the adrenalin kicks in, the worst of people comes out. Glad this one is off the streets.
Jimbo1911 0 Posted July 22, 2011 Scary when the person who is enforcing the law prevents you from obeying the law and then freaks out because you did what he said to do was also wrong to do.....I dont know if that makes sense.lol The ccw holder was gonna get screwed either way, if he just blurted out he had a ccw the officer prob would have freaked cause he wasnt following his command. oneshot 45 Posted July 22, 2011 all i can say is im effing speechless! What a complete POS that officer was and im sure still is. Glad to see he was shown the door out of law enforcement. He was the danger to public safety, not the driver. Jerkoffs like him make all LEO look bad.. I was shaking watching this video , i was so angry at what was going on. DevsAdvocate 112 Posted July 22, 2011 No offense, it's not guys like this who make police look bad. It's the other 90% of officers who stand by and do nothing when the bad apples abuse the citizenry. They sit there and pretend everything is fine and dandy and that the lowly 10% is just having a bad day. Losers.

dgstinner 11 Posted July 22, 2011 I had to pause the video because the officer with roid rage was starting to piss me off. The officer got way out of line, especially consider how calm and compliant the CCW licensee was, and I'm glad he's indefinitely suspended. If he has a previous record of being like this on traffic stops, I'd like to see him lose his badge and pension and have to settle for being a security guard carrying only a D cell maglite. DevsAdvocate 112 Posted July 22, 2011 you are correct. the other officer let that douche nozzle continue on and on with his tirade, while he did an illegal search of the car. Exactly. He should've stepped up to the plate to stop his partner. But he just stood by and watched... pathetic.
oneshot 45 Posted July 22, 2011 on the ohio CCW site i see a lot of people defending this guys actions. There was no crime being committed. Unless of course its illegal to stop your car and load or unload occupants. It was a bad stop from the get go. Why he didnt secure all the occupants and then address the driver i do not understand. He was WRONG WRONG WRONG in every aspect of this stop . I hope hes never in a position of authority again. Not even a mall cop.. I'm sure there will be some people who disagree, you are entitled to do so. BUT I AM RIGHT! LOL
bulpup 98 Posted July 22, 2011 I love how the cop says "that's how cops get killed." Right, CCW holders not telling cops they have a permit until later is how he could have been killed in that situation. Nothing other than that was dangerous about the stop. You're not going to. Don't waste your time worrying about this stuff. You have plenty of applicable things to worry about in NJ. Also, don't worry about Russian rules for Cosmonauts. The Russians are not going to take you into space. At least, not by putting you on a manned rocket.
Malsua 1,422 Posted July 22, 2011 You're not going to. Don't waste your time worrying about this stuff. 1. You don't know what will come of the SAF lawsuits. 2. Why are you bothering to tell us to stop worrying about this stuff? Maybe we like to talk about it. Maybe we enjoy the conversations. Maybe perhaps, seeing the pitfalls and the problems in other states will help us prevent the same issues in our state, even if it doesn't apply toward carry. Did you consider that? What if NJ introduces a LEO notification law for transport of firearms? If no one is aware of this information, no one will have any idea of how the cops can and will abuse it? Invariably, if they did introduce a law like this, half the state would think it's a good idea...simply directing them to that video will change a lot of minds.

Two reasons. First, because I was being a dick for fun (not just my fun, also yours to tell me to screw off) Second, NJ will be the last place on the planet earth. Long after carry is passed in London. So, it was sort of a multipurpose post.

Bob B 103 Posted July 23, 2011 As shocking as this video is, it is a necessary step toward knowledge and acceptance of CCW by police and society in general. For some, it takes seeing an extreme overreaction like this one in order to understand the full picture. Some police officers may not like civilians with guns, but they must learn to properly and professionally contend with them. The viral nature of this event will communicate that important lesson faster and wider than any classroom instructor ever could, and, therefore, ends up being very helpful. ...still a bad day for Mr. Bartlett though. While I was typing this, the video went from 197k to 214k views. I'd like to see it on The Factor.

Dr. KGM 1 Posted July 23, 2011 For anyone that has a ccw in new jersey is it a law to inform the leo that you have a ccw and that you are carrying? My best friend is a leo and anytime we have been pulled over the first thing he does is inform the officer that he is carrying. As far as the video it is my humble opinion that this officer is in need of a psychological treatment and evaluation to determine fitness for duty. Think about it, he threatened to kill this poor guy and stated that his fellow officer would collaborate in this murder!! I shared this video with my leo friends thay said it is this type of leo that can have him and his partner in federal prison for such an act towards a compliant civilian. As usefull as this is to CCW advocates, it is also very good at showing police what is downright wrong and unacceptable behaviour. Have you guys seen this video?
