this_is_nascar 162 Posted December 21, 2011 I went through (200) rounds or so of this ammo in my new Taurus 94 5" Stainless revolver today. By far, it's the most powerful .22LR ammo I've ever shot.
Damjan 73 Posted December 21, 2011 A brick of this is about 40$ , double than usual but you cant beat the power 1700fps . Works perfectly in my Henry and Ruger MkIII

Obviously, they are louder in a pistol than a rifle, but they are very quite. The lead is propelled by the primer only from what I understand. I bought them because I thought I'd be able to use them in my city backyard, but they're still a bit too noisy for that.
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted December 21, 2011 Not out of my old Colt revolver. Sounds like a bb gun
this_is_nascar 162 Posted December 21, 2011 I was shooting them indoors, so they probably sounded louder than what they would outside.
The_Matrix 105 Posted December 21, 2011 Good to hear. I order 500 rds from Cabelas and should be receiving the shipment on Friday. I have a semi 22 pistol and does not like the cheap federal bulk packs. Need more power to cycle.

This stuff shoots into the bullet trap on my deck discretely.
zoid 24 Posted December 22, 2011 I have read that the accuracy for the high power stuff is not great. What was your experience? I'd really like to give it a try.
Old School 611 Posted December 22, 2011 Accuracy isn't the greatest. But it's close range fun.
this_is_nascar 162 Posted December 22, 2011 It certainly isn't the most accurate, but was working fine for me at 25-yards. The issue is due to the higher velocity of the round. The faster it goes through the air, the more unstable it gets. That's why you'll see many use sub-sonic ammo for better accuracy. Personally, I like this round because it almost makes you forget your shooting a 22.
JonF 79 Posted February 6, 2012 Hmm, i think i just found a cheaper alternative to Stingers for my comp'd 22 pistol. Thanks Chief!

Must be some kind of acoustical think. I shoot them out of a Dan Wesson revolver and all I can hear is the slap of the bullet hitting the trap. But wait I shoot standard Colibri not Super in the pistol.
skruft 1 Posted February 6, 2012 Be careful of Super Colibri in a rifle, as they can get stuck in the barrel.
Greydaddy 2 Posted February 6, 2012 Be careful of Super Colibri in a rifle, as they can get stuck in the barrel. I've never had a problem with the Colibri or Super Colibri getting stuck in the barrel .

JonF 79 Posted February 23, 2012 I tried some of the supermax stuff this past weekend and out of 1 box of 50, i had 1 seriously undercharged. Luckily it exited the barrel, but it was so light, it almost sounded like a colibri! I've not shot much of this Aguila ammo or aguila in general, but it seems the consistency isn't quite the same as CCI. Speaking of colibri's and super colibri's, i shoot both out of my lever 22 and both exit the barrel just fine. I even have a 8x10" steel plate that i can hit at 100yds with both although the regular colibri's require some pretty silly holdover. The point is that they still have a decent amount of energy even after exiting the barrel so they are not going to get stuck in normal conditions.
