Nice job, now take your time and don't do anything else while you are loading.
hd2000fxdl 422 Posted April 8, 2012 I might have over bought at powder valley. W231 and Titegroup are one me. I know it was all tongue in cheek, but be very carefull with what you load for your gun and don't go outside the max specs on the ammo, I started with minor loads and would say start on the low side of what you are looking at achieve and test those rounds and work from there. Also, I won't let anyone shoot my rounds out of anything but my gun, let alone doing ammo for anyone else. By the way how much powder did you get?? JackDaWack 2,895 Posted April 8, 2012 very nice! Yeah, i'm super jelly! Hopefully when i get the LnL up and running i will be less jelly, but jelly still lol.
JamesC 2 Posted April 8, 2012 Will you be loading only .45 or are you looking to do other calibers as well? General question - do people reload 9mm at all or is that a weird one?
Jon 264 Posted April 8, 2012 I load both 9 and 45. Right now I load very very good quality 9mm for about half the price of plinking ammo.
JamesC 2 Posted April 8, 2012 I load both 9 and 45. Right now I load very very good quality 9mm for about half the price of plinking ammo. How long did it take you to get to that break even or get to that point with price per round?
Jon 264 Posted April 9, 2012 How long did it take you to get to that break even or get to that point with price per round? Initial buy-in for equipment was about $450. My cost per box is calculated based on what I pay for components.
AS350Driver 56 Posted April 9, 2012 For 9mm i'm at $5.81 for fifty rounds, the key is to buy in bulk. Once you have a powder that you like and a load that feeds reliably and is accurate you can buy a bunch of bullets, powder, and primers. Save your brass, even if you don't reload now it will pay off when you decide to.

I got 4lbs of Titegroup and 4lbs of W231. I started with the titegroup and really like it so far. Several hundred loads with 4.2gr and 4.0. All cycled well in the Trojan and my sig with zero issues. I'll probably try the 231 once the powder measure runs out.

I was going to get the mount but the ceiling in my basement is pretty low. I'll have to measure it first. That roller handle is looking pretty good right about now.
