Comrade Bloomberg at it again!

Recommended Posts

So I guess if you cannot sell a drink over 16oz it's still ok for you to order 2-16oz drinks! I still cannot believe anyone in their right mind would elect this tool!

"The people of New York City are much smarter than the New York City Health Department believes" I hope this is borne out in the public comment period.

I do not have a problem with labeling requirements--I have a right to know what is in everything I buy for consumption. That is as far as the state should go. I should be free to choose what I eat and drink. The labeling requirement facilitates my choice. The state has NO compelling interest in my free choice to lifestyle, what I buy or sell, or entry into any legal contract.

Unless, of course, the state is responsible for my healthcare--then there is a compelling government interest to control just about every choice I make.

So since he can't control the people who drink larkge drinks, he'll control the drinks themselves. Truly a a*hole. While it's not my state, I can't wait for them time when he goes. It's that type of mentality that convinces people to hate politicians.

I guess the next thing he will start is making people get 'food' permits in New York City in order to buy food and drinks.

And after that? He'll put a concrete wall and barbed wire around the city with guard towers and make himself mayor for life.

I think this law is bullsh*t, I agree anything other than labeling is interfering with my rights. That being said, the state may not be responsible for our health care costs but we all pay for the costs of obesity. Unfortunately, I doubt this will do anything about the number of fat shits in NYC so it won't be lowering healthcare costs one bit.

You have to admit though, there are a bunch of fat shits out there.

Yeah cause eating 3 Big Macs a day is soooo helping that

Its not the foods fault. Its not the drinks fault. Its the persons fault. The spoon doesn't make a person fat, as much as banning sugar will make people skinny.

In short: Bloomberg is a douche.

The "behavior police" at large in another nanny state.

Courtesy of HubPages:

(this poem has a familiar ring to it and a good message)

In Memory of Dr. Seuss

It started oh so long ago, with smokers who just didn't know,

their pleasures soon would be curtailed, they'd have to quit their coffin nails.

So bit by bit the war began, and ban by ban by ban by ban,

poor smokers all across the land, were told just when and where to stand,

if they should choose to light that fag, clearly this was not a gag.

Non-smokers said, "it serves them right", they smoke and smoke both day and night,

they foul the air with noxious smell, smokers all can go to Hell!

Let's ruin all their relaxation, burden them with much taxation,

that'll get them all to quit, who cares if smokers throw a fit.

No smoking on the aeroplane, in restaurant, bar or bus or train,

Don't blow that smoke into my face! I order you to leave this place.

Taxes from these dopes we'll take, and with all the dough we make,

we'll fund our schools, healthcare and roads, we'll show these slimy little toads,

just what it costs to smoke that weed, we'll make them pay, we will indeed.

And so the smoker paid and paid, more taxes on his fags were laid,

while others led a grand parade, this is fun do more they said,

there must be other things to tax, or stifle or to give the ax,

how about the SUV, "Sounds great" says one, "sounds great to me!"

From cigarettes to wheeled machine, they took the fight to keep things clean,

"You don't want to drive that car, doesn't matter near or far,

it makes a mess of mother earth, and all that damage isn't worth,

the safety that your car can bring, nor comfort - no not anything,

can justify your four wheeled beast, think about the kids at least!"

And so another war began, waged against the right of man,

to drive whatever car seems good, for cruising 'round his neighborhood,

for getting kids away to school, or little league or play or pool,

and hauling groceries from the store, to feed his kids of four or more.

"No, we will tell you what you need, a car that's green and has no speed,

and has no room for more than two, that's the car we've got for you,

and it's electric so you see, we'll have clean air both you and me,

and use less fuel just wait and see, and we'll be glad as glad can be."

Never mind the air that's fouled, by coal fired plants that stand so proud,

and belch their noxious fumes each day, to charge the car parked miles away,

forget the fact your clean green car, costs twice as much and more by far,

or that you'll probably break your neck, if fate involves you in a wreck.

The batteries the earth pollute, far more than any gas fueled ute,

when spent and tired and cold and dead, but amazingly still full of lead,

and acids that will eat your skin, in landfills they are left therein,

and replacement costs that are so high, it will surely make folks cry.

So cars got little small and wee, and people died increasingly,

in accidents that heretofore, caused bumper dents and nothing more.

"Let's see let's see what can we do, to cause more pain and make folks blue,

how about we listen to, their cellphone calls, just me and you,

and track their every move and worse, so all of us are safe of course,

you never know what evil lurks, within the minds of all these jerks!"

"We'll track their credit cards and such, and warn them when they spend too much,

and let the banks all charge a fee, for regulations that they see,

are placed on them, which is their due, it also makes more revenue,

to fund the vast bureaucracy, that kindly cares for you and me."

"But that's not all that can be done, we've only started having fun,

the people's health is poor indeed, I know what it is we need,

an agency to manage food, it's only for the people's good,

they're fat, they're fat, as fat can be, it's slim and trim we want to see."

"Now that Congress foots the bill, for every broken arm or ill,

we've got to stop the poor behavior, not of you but of your neighbor,

no more salt, trans fats and things, that heart disease and sickness bring,

ban the burger, donut, fry, we can't just let these people die."

"We'll tax all sweets and candy shop, there is no place we need to stop,

on sodas too we'll charge a fee, and do it most deliberately,

and we will take our righteous stand, against the fatsos in our land,

we'll make them pay to be so big, and we won't even give a fig!"

Yes that's the mantra loud and clear, from busybodies that you hear,

who want to run your very life, someday they may pick your wife,

decide how many kids are good, running through your neighborhood,

or where to walk or stand or crawl, they want to be in charge of all.

"But let me tell you something friend, that's not how it all will end,

you won't tell me what I can do, and there are many others too,

who tire of your brazen deeds, you are only planting seeds,

of discontent and ire and worse, you better read this verse by verse."

"I don't want you in my food, or in my house or neighborhood,

it won't be you who picks my car, or tries to tell me how things are,

or tells me what to listen to, or what to watch or say or do.

"Everything you touch gets worse, meddlers are the real curse,

from bureaucrat to green peace clown, it's finally time you all came down,

from that high horse where you sit, before us bumpkins throw a fit,

and put you in you proper place, you're nothing but a huge disgrace."

"Our country once stood tall and grand, but you have ruined our proud land,

you seek control of everything, yet ruin is the thing you bring,

so listen to this warning do, or it will not go well with you,

for things have changed, that time will tell, and you're the ones can go to Hell!"

ROLFLOL :rofl::sarcastichand::laugh::sarcastic::haha::icon_lol:

This news just made my day, just goes so well with this famous pro gun quote I have herd before.

"Blaming a gun for violence is like blaming the fork for making Rosie O’Donnell fat."

I have to hand it to NYC, between this and the "We have the capability to shoot down planes if need be (because the police have some .50 cal rifles)" last year, they are doing a remarkable job of staying consistent with their bad reasoning.
