milkstatus 0 Posted July 19, 2012 Darn, picking up a 22/45 today I was hoping to use for this, too bad this is rifle only. Atleast I can get an observation signed off.
Jon 264 Posted July 19, 2012 Hoping to make this. If I'm there and anyone wants to borrow a rifle I will have a spare Marlin 795 with 5 mags.

alec.mc 180 Posted July 19, 2012 Iggy, Stages look awesome. I'm digging the texas star and the abundance of steel! yes!
Heavyopp 167 Posted July 19, 2012 I have to agree --- Those stages do look awesome!!! Saturdays are usually very hard for me to get free --- I'm thinking I might have the flu this saturday I see on the stages you have a round count -- Is that maximum shots allowed or minimum shots required? You guys are killing me with mags needed Sure wish I had that .22 upper right now... gotta see what on the work schedule... Jer
alec.mc 180 Posted July 19, 2012 comstock round count = minimum shots required to complete the stage. If you see that you missed, or see you hit a D or C on the cardboard target, you have the chance to take the extra shots to make the better hit. woodentoe 14 Posted July 19, 2012 What is the entry fee for OB members? And in the stages, what to the color coding of the targets mean? I see some white, some beige, some duo tone in varying configurations.
alec.mc 180 Posted July 19, 2012 Brown = Shoot White = No shoots Black = Hard Cover Basically, only shoot the brown ones. Here, watch this youtube video ( and all the other uspsa 101 videos, lots of good info )
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted July 19, 2012 Iggy, I will have a Ruger 10/22 for Woodentoe to use but if you have those mags you loaned me last year they would make mag swaps a lot quicker for him. I will have plenty of the small ruger mags for him so at least he will be able to compete. Jim, just bring ammo for the gun and something to carry mags in. Mike, I think I have about 12-15 Mags for the Ruger 10/22. I'll bring them all for whomever may need them.
alec.mc 180 Posted July 19, 2012 Edit: I have 13 ruger 1022 mags, i'll need 5 for myself , which leaves 8 mags to lend out.
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted July 19, 2012 I have plenty. I bought 5 of the funky banana-type Iggy let me use one day plus I have 8 or 10 of the normal Ruger mags.
Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted July 19, 2012 Does anyone use lever guns, like a Henry, for this type of event, or would that type of gun be limited to cowboy action?
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted July 19, 2012 No Henrys or lever-action, you would never be able to reload it in time.
Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted July 20, 2012 Thanks for the reply. I figured as much.
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted July 20, 2012 You know what would be cool. Maybe you can use a lever-action gun for speed on steel matches, that would be different!
Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted July 20, 2012 ^ Very good idea. It would work on a speed stage, no doubt. Nice twist.
BlueLineFish 615 Posted July 20, 2012 I would try that except my lever action is 30-
woodentoe 14 Posted July 21, 2012 Mike, Iggy, NickC, Alec, Steve, Carlos, Reah, Juah: It was a pleasure shooting OBRAMS today with you folks. I apologize for splitting early, but my Mrs. was about to turn into a pumpkin. :-) Mike, please thank Cheryl for the use of her 10/22, and Alec, thanks for the mags man. Have thought about using my Marlin LA and I have a few speed loader tubes to make it quick also but no division for it and WCS it probably won't happen, but maybe Leo might consider it for his match.. M4BGRINGO 139 Posted July 22, 2012 Heard some whispering about a possible side-match using Lever Actions. Just may need to go out and buy one or two so I can play too!
