zoid 24 Posted November 17, 2012 Any of you ever buy a bun solely out of cool-factor? Lately I've been buying a bunch of full sizes telling myself I should only get guns I know I will use in competition. But that limits you to full sizes generally and big ugly guns like the G34 (yes I own one). I stayed away from many guns I wanted because of this "gaming" mentality I developed. Now I'm thinking enough with the full sizes and time to have some fun. I'm looking into the XDS, the Sig 938, some type of snubby revolver, and just anything that is different and cool though my fascination is with small subcompact/pocket guns. What is on your "fun" gun list?

blksheep 466 Posted November 17, 2012 I bought the keltec sub 2000 back in 2003 because it was cool. Then I sold it before I got married in 2007 like a dumbass.

jamesbod 0 Posted November 17, 2012 I usually get the ugliest guns so when they go kaboom I can rationalize that they had to go.

RecessedFilter 222 Posted November 17, 2012 For the past year or two, I'd say more than 50% of my purchases were 'unique'. They weren't so much of the 'cool' factor, but I've been buying older guns now and that has opened up a whole new realm. Engraved receivers, anniversary models, the nicest wood ever to be put on guns, and the overall detail that stomps all over new/present day guns. Older guns are just so cool. Bagarocks 36 Posted November 18, 2012 Just picked up a pretty cool 1978 Browning BDA 45 Cal, It's got Browning Arms Co. Morgan Utah, Montreal P.Q. listed on one side of the gun and Sig Sauer System made in West Germany on the other. Otherwise known as a Sig Sauer P220 Neat stuff! huh. checko 180 Posted November 18, 2012 Yeah, I buy all my guns for the fun value. I honestly never got into this sport for the "defense" aspect and I never intended to use any of them for that purpose. I've since learned a great respect for the responsibility that comes with being a gun owner. Still just like to blow sh*t up though.

DbleTrouble 8 Posted November 18, 2012 I buy them to use them. I was going to buy a judge but decided not to after I realized that 410s don't have enough stopping power and the accuracy of the gun is poor. So my answer is no.

mipafox 438 Posted November 21, 2012 Hahaha, you remember that dude? HAHAHA Of course! It was a fun day. I met a handful of nice, like-minded guys, and spent the better part of the day with them. I know I still haven't made it out to Lehigh Sporting Clays but I still plan to meet up with as many of you as I can again. Heck, I have a local friend that shoots there all the time and I haven't gone, so it aint you or anything
