liquidskin 3 Posted December 13, 2012 Bad enough this lady has been yammering away on her cell phone for 20 mins to Verizon on the train, but in a few minutes I learned her entire name, phone number and that HER HUSBAND IS OUT OF THE COUNTRY. Talk about putting a target on your back, Jeeeeez. End rant.. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

lunker 274 Posted December 13, 2012 You should have walked up to her and said "You don't know me, but I know something about you." Repeat the details she provided and ask "Do you trust everyone within earshot of you on this train? Because you just gave us all this information. Sleep well.". Handyman 5,682 Posted December 13, 2012 She probably has it all up on her facebok page anyway. Never ceases to amaze me what people will advertise about themselves.

My wife thinks I am a paranoid nutcase when I tell her not to post photos of us vacationing away from home. I said that next time she does it, I am going to change the outgoing answering machine message to "We're not home. Come rob us."

Quiet cars are nice when they work, but there is usually someone who ruins it. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

I will get downright mean at those idiots. Say it loud enough and get enough people's attention and they'll chime in to help you out.
liquidskin 3 Posted December 13, 2012 I will get downright mean at those idiots. Say it loud enough and get enough people's attention and they'll chime in to help you out. Sometimes those "discussions" get downright nasty. Usually the loudmouth gets defensive, but the other night a kid who didn't realize he was in a quiet car was getting a lot of shit from people who ganged up on him after he apologized for his ignorance. I felt bad for him, he seemed genuinely sorry and the "adults" were practically belittling him. Regardless, I think NJT could do a little more to keep people informed of the policy. I've seen conductors walk right past people on the phone without saying anything. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
leahcim 680 Posted December 14, 2012 It comes down to basic respect for the people around you. I always figure no one wants to hear me talking on the phone. So I will either take a call and try to move to a more remote area, like outside if I am in a restaurant. I hate it when people take calls in a restaurant. Or I just don't take the call. If someone is talking on the phone in a loud voice nearby I will usually just start repeating everything they say--as if I am on my own phone call. I guess that is obnoxious but maybe it helps get the message across.
fishnut 2,358 Posted December 14, 2012 If someone is real loud and annoying on the phone i just pretend to be on my phone and talk even louder that them while standing as close to them as possable. Its really allot of fun. lol
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted December 14, 2012 The worst offenders are actually the hispanics who get on at Elizabeth station - since the main stairway up to the station platform is at the rear of the train.... plus most don't speak english so they don't give a fugg about anything and jump on the phone and talk loud. Damjan 73 Posted December 14, 2012 I could only imagine if the PATH had cell reception... Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 It does between Newark and Journal square. Had someone sit next to me yesterday and for the entire 15min ride she couldnt stop blabbing . She didnt give a fugg about her surroundings. Even worse was her friend sitting across who was instructing her what to say. I wanted to pull the handle and kick both of them into the Hackensack river. liquidskin 3 Posted December 14, 2012 I know EXACTLY who are you talking about..............no cell phone maniacs can out do him............the shiver in fear from him............ How has nobody killed him yet!? I used to ride that line daily for my Brooklyn commute a few years ago.. I rarely end up on the path these days but saw him on there recently and couldn't believe he was still at it.
