I was just vote #666 and it's up to 74% of the people don't agree with it, what I can't understand is how 26% of the people could even think this is a good idea, I mean, are the other 26% that are voting all the new criminals just trying to push this so they have a safer place to rob, rape and do thier thing??

I agree, it's a symbolic gesture. I dont think it will go anywhere. It is full of all sorts of misinformation, and does not address any specifics such as existing semi auto guns.

I read the resolution. Makes for entertaining reading if you have the stomach for it. Contained in the resolution is the distilled wisdom of our opponents. It reveals their thinking and direction.. I urge everyone to read it to understand our opponents ideas so he can be DEFEATED.

They should be banned, according to the resolution, because they are self-loading and a shooter can quickly fire many more bullets than with a single-action firearm such as a revolver.

I read that Chicago passed the 500 mark for murders, 80% gang related (estimated 70,000 gang members) and the preferred weapon was an illegally obtained handgun. Therefore the politicians see the solution as banning the sale of assault style rifles to law abiding citizens. Such impeccable logic.

There is no way a semi-auto ban would be constitutional. They are the most popular form of firearm and have been in common usage for 100 years.

I have family all over RI and had lived in Providence and coastal Narragansett years ago. Providence is an absolute shit hole as has been for some 60+ years according to my dad. Federal Hill is Jersery Shore with worse accents. No loss if a tsumani cleaned it out.

I was just in Providence, RI for 6 weeks on a job. I spent about 10 days in Federal Hill. For the most part, Providence and its surrounding towns are ghetto's with high unemployment, and high crime. This is exactly the type of place where you need to carry a gun on you.

 

The locals were telling me stories about the neighboring town called Central Falls. The town is bankrupt, the mayor was arrested, you can buy drugs on any corner. RI actually tried to give the town to MA but they refused to take it. We worked in this town for a few days. We called the Central Falls police dept to hire an off duty officer for security on location while we were there, they told us they couldn't help and that we should call the Pawtucket police. They are that understaffed.

 

I definitely will not miss the place. Horrible food too.
