Mike48 0 Posted February 15, 2013 New to the forum - so hopefully this is appropriate... Draft of my letter to the Ass Chair - which I'll cc the entire commitee and Gov. Haven't clicked send yet.. but finger is on the trigger so to speak. I urge you to do the right thing. It takes a big person to admit they made a mistake and need to start over. But that is exactly what you and the Public Safety Committee need to do. RECALL THESE DEFECTIVE BILLS IMMEDIATELY! Respectfully, [name, city and phone] sounds good to me...launch............I dont think will be able to do this though
NJCK 5 Posted February 15, 2013 I'd like to share with you all the response of a 40-year, voting citizen of NJ who sits generally neutral, did not attend, but listened to the proceedings after I sent him the link via email and only the subject header of "You might find this interesting": Listened to over 2.5 hours of this. I could tell in the first 10 minutes that the entire meeting was a farce. The chairman started the meeting by calling all the Bills, and specifically naming a few, common sense measures. I took it as a passive aggressive attempt at calling anyone who was opposed as not having common sense. They had no intention of listening to anyone and this was a show for the press and the process. That is clear. The Chairman said everyone had two minutes. Obviously, the mayor, Senator, and Assembly members were not held to this rule along with those who supported the Bills. The Chairman is an asshole. He threatened to throw people out pretty much right away. During the discussion on the high capacity magazines, he claimed that he, as a police officer, was authorized to state that the time to change a magazine is 20 or sometimes 30 seconds. I know that having done it under your tutelage, I can change one in less than 5, and I've watched you compete and load-shoot-reload and least 4-5 magazines in that span of time. I am absolutely in favor of stronger gun control measures nationally, and what I really want are laws for crimes with firearms to stick and those who break them punished. I am in favor of real sensible measures that are sustainable on into the future and do not criminalize law abiding citizens! I personally don't believe the "this will tell criminals I'm less of a threat" arguments, but I also do not see how further restricting those who follow the current laws will make any difference on crime, enhance the protection of our children, or address helping those in need of mental help before terrible things happen. Nevertheless, due process is a mechanism of guaranteeing the freedom of the people of society and that was clearly circumvented here and was pointed out very early in the statement where 23 Bills were on the schedule in one day. About an hour or so in it was clear that there were too many Bills up for discussion in a single session and the Chairman actually stated that they would wait to hear people AFTER the bills were voted on. DISGRACEFUL! If you want we can go over more later but right now I'm just too frustrated to continue. This is why EVERYONE needs to hear about how their government is really being run! njpilot 671 Posted February 15, 2013 Not one person was disrespectful until he opened his mouth with taunts about his meeting. Funny how disrespect is only one way. FYI fo all the videos shot by Haggz51 (http://www.youtube.com/user/Haggz51) Thanks Gerry.
njpilot 671 Posted February 15, 2013 I have read your email and I thank you for contacting me. Let me start by saying I don't want to hurt anyone, and I do understand the passion that many citizens have towards this issue. I would be the first to admit that I don't look at gun ownership as you do, and it is important that I listen to you. I did try, but at the meeting the crowd began to disrespect me and at that time I stopped paying attention. By responding that way, I may have missed the testimony that would have allowed me to see things differently. I want you to understand that I too am very passionate with my stand on guns, and I continue to reflect on the babies we lost in Connecticut. Since that incident, I tend to look one way, and I shouldn't. So I'm asking you to please give me a call and allow me to listen to your concerns and I can then explain my mind. All I ask is if we see that we can't agree, please let us end the conversation by agreeing not to agree. I'm asking you call my office, if I'm not there please leave your number and I'll return your call. 201-536-7851 Poor baby. He was the disrespectful one. If he's to immature to do his duty, he should resign his seat immediately. Anyone who has been offered the opportunity to meet with him should do it. Hopefully you can bring BLF, Blacksheep, GRIZ and other current and retired LEOs with you to challenge this arrogant a**hole.
AnthonyG 36 Posted February 15, 2013 I have a strong feeling christie will veto the most restricting bills and I think thats why hes remained so quiet on the topic, because he wants a good stage when he does it to forward his bid for presidential run in 2016. Usually I am pretty annoyed with political actions like this but in this case we are mutually benefiting.

raz-0 1,259 Posted February 15, 2013 I did a little research into Joe Cryan today. He is a Union County Undersheriff. If he is an active law enforcement officer and Undersheriff he can carry. If his job duties require him to carry he can conceal carry. If he is a retired LEO and an Undersheriff he can carry as retired LEO, but not on "official duty" for his Undersheriff duties as he has no arrest powers. I am going to find out what he is responsible for (i.e. Warrants? FIU? DVU? etc.) As an FYI, Undersheriff's are appointed positions. They are all political appointees. S. I think primarily his responsibilities include collecting as many checks from the state as possible while not showing up to do anything.

I know, herd that listening to the live feed, but think of who said it, he was probably on his Facebook account surfing big bootie girls he follows or what ever his other favorite one is beside "you got knocked the F out". PeteF 1,044 Posted February 15, 2013 I was not able to make the meeting and am kind of glad. I would have been escorted out when Greenwald rambled for 5:30 and SFB first said it was "My meeting" I don't know if the people who were there were able to hear what was being said, but I had to leave my desk and walk around to keep from screaming. I don't know how you guys / ladies were able to put up with the crap being spewed.
