what kind of spider is this?

Just came home top find this critter up on the kitchen ceiling...took this picture before the "assault weapon" came out (broom stick hehe) and mashed him. i would estimate 1 to 1 3/4 inch in diameter

the flash made the spot on him reflect

That's a democratic spy spider.

He was scouting and looking for your firearms.

He lives off your stuff for free, and has probably left Atleast 700 eggs in a corner somewhere.

Good thing you squashed it, they are coming out of the woodwork right now.

If it was a big sucker it was probably in the wolf spider family. Don't worry, they lay lots of eggs...

I once killed a spider like that in my house. When I smashed it, it seemed like 100 baby spiders came out if it. From now on instead of smashing them, I kill them...

The picture isn't clear enough for me to the legs and if they have stripes but it looks to me like a fishing spider. We have and pond and swamps and they come from there. They are too big to make webs and can hide in the mud and catch tadpoles and Minos by lunging at them. We had one under our deck that was at least 8 inches from front leg tip to back leg tip.

Tokay Gecko! I used to have one of those when I was in college. HIs name was Evil, he tried to bite off my finger once. Never fed him spiders, mostly crickets, and almost a finger that one time.

Yea his name is diablo...... Got out in the bathroom the night I got him.... I got bit a few times haha.

I usually feed him pinky mice when I get litters.... I always keep crickets in his tank.

My girlfriend started the black widow farm in my reptile room....

She knew there was a female widow in the plant she brought in from outside last fall......

After getting bit last summer and spending 8hrs on an IV at the hospital.... I have grow quite weary of all 8 legged creatures.... I've always said anymore than 4 legs and its not my friend...

You should of seen the look on my face when she was trying to get me to buy her a camel spider.... When I said hell no!!! She said she would settle on a tarantula..... Haha not me

Are you freakin serious with the camel spider? Is that even legal to own? Holy ship! That is some scary ship right there. I love tarantulas too, ever since the movie "ARACHNOPHOBIA" I fell in love with them at around 8yrs old.

I watched it destroy one of those huge cockroaches at a reptile expo..... Serious spiders...

The rose hair tarantulas are pretty cool...... But a 4" spider is probably one of my biggest fears.... I would probably randomly have itches the entire time I'm home haha
