lol deer chased my pups

was walking in the woods at bottem of my yard when I saw a deer on the edge of my yard/woods. dogs walked right into it but didnt see it. it then took a step and dogs saw and gotvery interested , got closer then deer ran into them sending my 10 month old pups yelping and running for their lives as this deer is literally chasing their butts all around the yard, funny as hell but yea a bit dangerous. The dogs ran up to our deck and I then approached the deer and got 15 ft and we just stared at each other...weird. it then slowly walked away no cares. was the deer lonely and wanting to play with these little deer or being aggressive holding its ground, maybe a fawn neerby?

Not sure but a buck attacked  my in-laws dog a few years back.  Launched her in the air!

Well to even out this story one of my huskies a few years ago killed a small deer.

There certainly could be a fawn nearby. Tis the season. We had one born in our yard a few hours ago.

We have a 105# Chesapeake Bay retriever that will look at the deer and bark but if they move toward her she runs for cover.  We have an 8# rescue cat that will stalk any deer in our back yard and run after them when she sees them 

 

Go figure!

my daughter went out for a run last fall and on her way home the deer wouldn't let her come up the driveway to our house.

her phone had died and she called me from the neighbors house to chase them away..

Im happy to know my boy has more defensive instincts than aggressive as far as his prey drive goes. But it's nice to know he can tell the critters this is our place and outsiders arent welcome.

My boxer HATES deer. Will get all kinds of angry when she sees them. I've never had the opportunity to see what she would do off leash thankfully

There was a fawn in my yard yesterday that had trouble walking. I'm guessing it got hit by a car with its mom.

Could be. It wasn't big. But there was no mom. I could see for hundreds of yards.

That's normal. Mom drops them down in an area that is free from predators and leaves to graze and will stop back in the evening to feed the fawn milk. If the fawn is calling for its mother for more than an hour, there are allot of fly's on it, or its laying completely on its side with its legs out straight and its cheek flay on the ground then its in trouble otherwise its just a normal baby deer

Careful, about ten years ago my Rottweiler was killed by a deer. My dog was chasing a doe and a buck started into the chase, caught up to my dog, and speared him. Paralyzed him from the waist down and we had to put him down.
