When did Almeida write that? He has acknowledged to me personally that his case might have been construed as, and achieved nothing more than strengthening JN. I've been hard on him and on that point but there's no doubt he's an honorable man.

He brings up a point, however, about numbers. He cites 1.7 million FID holders in the state. Others say 1.2 or 1.0 million.

Folks nobody in this state gives a crap about our gun rights (and their own) except for gun owners themselves. This is not WV or PENN or AZ. We have a negative gun culture in NJ. The average person, D and R, thinks guns are horrible. I know plenty of folks who vote Republican who would be aghast at CC in this state.

We can wait until this Hudson bill percolates through, the challenges, the literal shit-storm of lies and scare tactics by the national and local media that is going to occur. That's a 100% certainty. This bill will go down as another characterization of the current climate as the equivalent of Nazism. The reaction will be INSANE. Only 3 states don't have shall-issue CC and only 4 others limit it in some way, but wait till this passes.

That is why the only way to send a real message is to begin un-electing vulnerable state assembly-critters and senate-critters.

I don't think many of you need convincing that NRA, NJARPC, etc. are more or less tits on a bull when it comes to NJ gun rights.

1) Start a protest by not renewing your NRA membership and include a note in the SASE telling them why. You'll still have all your certifications, certificates, signet rings, $2 complimentary pocket knives, and funny three-cornered hats. They don't give a crap about us. Why give them money to convince the Utah legislature to allow howitzers at girl scout picnics on Sundays in church parking lots?

2) Stop listening to our pro-2A organizations NOW. Nothing but failure from them. Stop the silly whiny emails to Loretta Weinberg. News flash: She's not reading them.

3) Plan to tap into those 1.0, 1.2, 1.7 whatever million voters by using them to replace two or three vulnerable legislators with pro-2A people. I've set the numbers out in excruciating detail on numerous occasions.

4) Buy stock in adult diaper manufacturing companies. Nothing scares these worthless parasitic vermin turds more than losing their cushy jobs.

That culture is changing. New ranges? Who would have thought. Women n taking a huge market share. National Reciprocity bill. NH going constitutional..... etc.

Changing gun culture in NJ starts with each one of us talking to our friends and associates. Changing the prejudices that we are hillbillies or gangbangers.

And SUPPORT your 2a groups! Only in this state is everybody an expert. If all these tribes could come together and coordinate, we could actually storm the castle!

Honorable people don't take money under false pretenses.

So we should abandon all the 2A groups, but then, somehow, formulate and execute a strategy to influence the votes of a million people or more.  I'm been somewhat disillusioned with "orgs" for the past couple years, but this doesn't make any sense.

Zeke, you are touching interesting point. I work in corporate sales in NYC/NJ area. 5 - 7 years ago engineers that I was working with where interested in playing golf, tasting expensive wine and sugar. Nowadays at least 50% of hobby related conversations are related to guns, hunting, mud races and other physicaly challenging outdoor activities. It may be the age of the people but I also see much more liberals so it looks like IT society is splitting and becoming much less uniform.

Nj/ Ny make it hard for purchase but not impossible. I think that's a planned deterrent.

Obama was the best salesman ever!

I have to agree, growing the number of people engaged in shooting is the most important long term goal, IMO.  And we are watching it happen.  (Thanks in part to some people engaged in this kind of outreach, and in part because shooting is fun in and of itself)

Somehow I think a democrat Assembly, Senate and Gov may have a different outlook on our gun culture than some folk here. This and only this is what they see: http://c.ymcdn.com/sites/www.anjrpc.org/resource/resmgr/ds-email/gun_control_list_03-22-13.pdf

    • We never let then inside.  Last re-evaluation was 6-7 years ago, wife politely told him that he was welcome to look around the property and he could look in the windows. He saw two white resin chairs in the basement and told her that this constituted a finished basement. And everything in the basement is bare concrete/ cinder block, and mechanical systems. Nothing finished about it. Ultimately he relented and I'm sure that was a ploy to coerce us to allow him in
    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
