Recall Sweeney Logistics

Recommended Posts

We need an electable Republican to step up NOW maybe someone with name recognition like Tom Kean Jr. There is no pro gun Democrap. That low life Sweeney was suppose to be pro gun and ran as one, so was Florio. Never under any circumstance trust a Democrat ever, and lately same for a stinking Republican. Sweeney could care less about guns hes a puppet pure and simple for what ever Debbie Blabbermouth Sultz tells him. Sweeney is far from a shoe in I hope they run him he is despised by allot of people and I know history would predict a Democrat next but Im not sure a union turd high school drop out from white trash Gloucester Twp. will win.

Do the Republicans even have a qualified candidate there? The Dems will not run anyone against incumbent Sweeney.

Incumbent? Hows that hes the Senate President. Hes not popular hes someone 80% of voters dont even know, and when people find out what a low life he really is i think the Dems will probably run a human . The Republicans have to find someone, who I dont know. I guess we will see.

It astounds me that the main topic of this thread just sorta died a couple of months ago and how the subject, the tactics, the successes and failures, suddenly became non-issues. I'm surprised, considering how many of you spent so much time on the recall that there has been no post-mortem, no self-analysis. Like it never happened.

Or are you disappointed and/or ashamed that it did happen?

What went wrong or was it just a matter of time and manpower? I sense it was long before the, er, hmmm, ahhh... how do I put it?.. the undocumented and forever-to-be unchallenged 29,000th signature was collected.

What are your thoughts on the time and money you spent, the days you took off from work? What were your expectations (please no more diarrhea stories) and to what degree were they met? Where did it fall short? By how much? Why? Who? Did you feel the pro-2A community was strengthened or weakened and why?

These are potential lessons we should not be afraid to face like intelligent men.

I suspect at some point it was decided not to share information or updates in the forums for fear that the enemy would learn too much. OK that's over. The declaration of excommunication has been revoked, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

This was a big deal and a big failure, with more implications than you realize.

Share your information and help us avoid future debacles.

Be warned that anyone who posts "WE LOST BECAUSE ASSHOLES LIKE YOU DIDN'T BELIEVE AND DIDN'T HELP" automatically go on my shit (ignore) list.

And up to 80% of the voters in this (and many other) state don't care. They just look for the "D" and pull the lever. Brainless, mindless, koolaid drinkers.

"My dad was a democrat, so its good enough for me"  I hear all too often when talking to people.

Well its not your fathers Democratic party any more bucko!  Try thinking for yourself for a change!

No. Newtonian. You are correct with your assumptions. If you want more info pm me.

Edited. But the info supplied will only be to help not to hurt or discredit the cause.

It's lonely at the top.

Anybody that claims to have all the answers has none

No recall has ever succeeded in NJ. The recall of Sweeney was an ill conceived idea that had no chance of success. As for NJ politics; they are controlled by the population centers of Patterson, Newark, Jersey City, Trenton, and Camden,  The people in those cities look to government for their total existence and are trained to pull the lever to the left. Add in a large percentage of idealistic white liberals, as those in Princeton, and you end up with the one party socialist system that we have here in NJ. To further aggravate the situation, government, both national and local ,has done every thing in its power to destroy the blue collar industrial base. Those jobs are now in China courtesy of BOTH parties.

This leaves the honest decent NJ gun owner with a bad situation. We cannot win here when Christie is gone.  The only way to fight unjust draconian gun laws in NJ is to eventually take the argument to the supreme court, but with the death of Scalia and the 2016 presidential election in the balance, this will be an unanswered question until election day.

Well said! Unfortunately its not just New Jersey. Look whats happening in Virginia. Pa isn't far behind. The 47%ers don't even need to drink the coolaid anymore. Its in their DNA.

this the part the quitters don't understand. State borders are just lines drawn on a map. Ideology can move freely with the people.

Exactly. Perfect.

People who fell for the recall neglected to consider all the very, very difficult stages of the process. One failure and it's over. No consolation prizes. No re-dos.

Turns out it failed at the very first stage, which when you examine Sweeney's previous victory margins and vote counts was not surprising, except to individuals who believe in the Tooth Fairy and who feel that doing anything is always better than doing nothing. The chicken-without-a-head philosophy of life.

There were other factors at work as well which I will leave to others to figure out.

And though several democrat legislators did experience premature ejaculations, none actually pooped in their pants.

Unfortunately the people in the Blue states retire/move to Red states to escape the high tax/low freedom of said sates. However those Blue State migrants bring their voting habits with them. That's why you see traditional Red states like VA, etc turning Blue.

Great article by New York Times on the growing Blue State Diaspora: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/24/upshot/the-growing-blue-state-diaspora.html?_r=0

If all you see are roadblocks, you'll never get anywhere

Exactly. How many signztures did you collect Newtonian? How about the other people who like to bash any initiative to change the status quo?

It failed for many reasons. Largest is apathy. Lot's of people who like talk about how bad things are but hardly EVER take any action other than typing on their computer.

It IS like mold like Zeke says. A LOT of alleged 2A supporters are infected and covered with it. They've sat hardly moving behind their computers so long, in the dark, they are covered with mold. Either get active and out in the light to to burn off the mold or go join the Democrats (which many think you are plants for....or maybe petri dishes would describe you better) or Mom Demands Action.

Your piss poor "It will never work", "It's a waste of time to even try to change things" attitudes sucks. Tired of the fight? Shut up, get out of the way / move out of NJ. Take your defeatists attitudes elsewhere. Go read about the Royal Family and watch reality TV. YOU are the problem.

I have a more relevant question for you, to help cut through the obvious bullshit: How many signatures did YOU collect? How many individuals worked on signature-gathering? Let's assume they collected as many as you did. X x Y = how many signatures is that?

Now just for shits and grins divide 36,000, your target number, by that number. What do you get? 3? 5? 10?

I could just as easily accuse everyone else on this board of indifference because nobody bought into my "get out the vote" plan, which only required swinging a few hundred votes to get real results.

You were walking a narrow, perilous path to nowhere. You had to collect 11000 more signatures than the total number of people who voted against him in 2013. Are you freaking kidding me? You're confusing indifference with sanity. Then he had to be recalled. Then you had to find a republican to run against him. Then he would have to win. And at that point we would have gained exactly one senate seat, with a Dem still president. Oh I forgot, everyone else would be soiling their panties.

A lot of people in this forum contribute towards the cause in many, many ways. Don't call them names just because they don't fall for every cockamamie scheme someone comes up with. We are allowed to think.

Heading you off at the pass:

Don't tell me you actually collected 29,000 signatures. Please. You guys quit in early August I believe, with a couple of months to go. 29,000 = 80% of your goal. How could you quit at that point? Hell, if I thought you had 29,000 signatures even I would have considered joining in for shits and grins. What was the real number? Knowing that, who was right about the recall, me or you?

This is not constructive.

Truly, you are either part of the solution, or part of the problem

Brilliant. I have to write down that lefty-touchy-feely truism.

So the recallers were part of the solution? Please tell me what they achieved, what they solved.

Newtonian, how many people did you discourage from volunteering with your negative comments and bashing? That is a far more relevant question.

I'm proud of the signatures I gathered, the effort I contributed and the friends I made while helping this effort. Can you say the same about your contibutions?
