Why We Should Carry At Home

Violent Home Invasion

Case Illustrates Threat Posed by Gangs

"Violent gangs pose a significant threat to communities throughout the United States. You don’t have to live in South Central Los Angeles or Chicago’s inner city to feel the impact of gang violence, as a recent case from Washington state illustrates."

"Around 9:30 p.m., a 66-year-old Lakewood man answered a knock at his door and was confronted by the three youths, who forced their way into the home. The gang members had picked the wrong house, but that didn’t matter to them. What happened next was 20 minutes of terror for an innocent couple"

"...they kicked down the locked bedroom door where the couple had barricaded themselves behind their bed. Confronted again by the attackers, the man fired two shots, hitting 19-year-old Taijon Vorhees both times.

At that point, all three robbers fled and drove away"

I don't think one has to carry at home at all times, however if someone is knocking at my door at 9:30pm, I would be hesitant to answer it and if I did, I might have a gun with me!

And if you do watch this

bad guys don't aways knock, some times they just kick in a door or break a window. I'd rather carry my gun at home and not need it than need my gun and not have it on me.

No place to wear it in my underwear.

When I've carried at home, it's when I expect to be home for a while.  In those situations so far, it's been open carry.  Mainly because I don't have an IWB holster.  Plus, given I'm not the most experienced guy in terms of carrying/self defense, I think having easier, less complicated access might be a better idea. Plus, the compact 9mm I use isn't all that ..compact.

also, on why it's a good idea.. we've had a number of weekend daytime and evening break ins in our little piece of upper-middle class suburbia here.  Including an incident reported to involve three masks guys apparently looking to steal a guy's driveway parked Ferrari.

Who parks a Ferrari in a driveway?

This a-hole in my town that wants everyone to see his Ferrari.

(that he probably leased)

What's wrong with leasing? There are plenty of cars I'd rather lease because upkeep costs are ridiculous after a few years.

I get your sentiment about people being tacky and showing off wealth.

Nothing, in reality.  This particular individual is the king of conspicuous consumption.  But it's more smoke and mirrors than substance.

      FBI: Latest Crime Statistics Released
Increase in Violent Crime, Decrease in Property Crime

      https://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/latest-crime-statistics-released?utm_campaign=email-Immediate&utm_medium=email&utm_source=fbi-top-stories&utm_content=589432

"...a 3.9 percent increase in the estimated number of violent crimes and a 2.6 percent decrease in the estimated number of property crimes last year when compared to 2014 data."

Given the lawlessness that we read about in the news this is not entirely surprising. Yet it is still disappointing given the decades of decreasing crime rates.

In light of the poor ruling against the 2nd Amendment today by the 9th Circuit court, the Almeida / Tumminelli v. NJ case moves forward and will be filed at the Federal Courts in Newark on Friday, June 10th 2016 by the law firms hired to move the case forward. The 3 law firms involved are out of Pennsylvania, Mississippi and California. The details of the complaint, law firms involved and updates will all be made public for your viewing after the approval on the release of such is obtained by the lead attorney.  This case is being funded 100% by us, the laypeople (we, the people) and their supporters.  To learn more, visit the Party of Six on their FB page or at www.partyofsix.org

      Thank you,

Michael J. Cino is the Chairman of the Constitutional Carry Coalition - we believe that "justifiable need" should be trashed - Please CALL TEN PEOPLE you know in the 5th Congressional District and ASK THEM TO VOTE FOR MICHAEL J. CINO IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY JUNE 7 AgainstTheEstablishment.com
Then ask them to CALL TEN PEOPLE THEMSELVES

and then ask those TEN to call TEN PEOPLE to Vote for Michael J. Cino in the 5th Congressional District on June 7 - it's the only way we are going to get rid of "justifiable need" and change the gun laws in New Jersey AgainstTheEstablishment.com

On Fox News. New Jersey’s arcane gun law is preventing some retired cops from getting a permit to carry a concealed weapon, according to a published report:

MO lawmaker wants gun owners to consider retreat over firing

Missouri lawmaker wants gun owners to retreat instead of shooting to defend. Rep Randy Dunn proposed HB 1940 http://www.house.mo.gov/billtracking/bills141/billpdf/intro/HB1940I.PDF  The bill would require a person to retreat when facing danger.

Attorney Kevin Jamison strongly opposes the bill.
"I'm appalled. This is showing more regard for home invaders than home owners," he said. "This is an absurd piece of legislation. It should be given the contempt it deserves."

    • It's not worth the effort. Trust me!
    • I own several H&R topper shotguns in a few different gauges.  None of mine interchange - but I really have no idea about a model 158.  Didn't realize they had 3 digit model numbers. If a shotgun's barrel needs to be extended, I'm not sure how a gun smith would solve that cheaper than purchasing a longer barrel - even for the very hard to find H&R shotguns.  They would need to machine the ID and OD to make a barrel extension that exactly fits the existing barrel, weld the two together, then machine the weld to clean up the joint, and finally blue the joint so you won't see it.  So labor intensive and expensive it's not worth doing unless you have your own shop and can do it yourself. And, if anyone owns an actual shotgun with a barrel that's not long enough, they wouldn't like you posting about their shotgun on the internet for everyone to see.  I recommend you delete the post to protect your acquaintance.
