Maksim 1,504 Posted April 5, 2009 Was working on these, but speaking to a member here... made me get to them quickly. =P
tgz13 0 Posted April 19, 2009 Very cool.. it won't be too hard to identify other members shooting at the same range with those
djg0770 481 Posted April 20, 2009 Maksim, I'm working on a silhouette target, I'll pm you when I'm closer to printable and maybe you can give me some pointers and I'll post it up (obviously for free) likewise.
Maksim 1,504 Posted April 20, 2009 not a problem. let me know if you need the psd. =)
djg0770 481 Posted April 20, 2009 Sorry maksim, I work in CAD, I don't do photoshop, but I can print to PDF which makes it available to 'all'. I'll shoot you something this week, maybe together we can knock it out.
Scottcba1 8 Posted April 20, 2009 These are very cool! I will def take a bunch with me the next time I go to shoot. Great training tool as well, shooting on a regular sheet of paper rather then a large silhouette target. Im sure when you guys get the silhouette targets made up if you had the capabilities to print them on larger paper people would be willing to pay for them to help support the site. I know when I was big into a few different car forums people would pay for shirts, hats, stickers, anything that would support the site and get the name out there......just a thought. -Scott
Lavid2002 1 Posted April 20, 2009 If I use these and leave them at the rang im sure a bunch of people from the WMA will join the forum...then ill have people to shoot with printing now
tgz13 0 Posted April 22, 2009 For those who print these out on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.. How far out are you shooting at them?
Yotafan 1 Posted April 22, 2009 For those who print these out on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.. How far out are you shooting at them? Yesterday was the first time i actually used them and it was mainly for my fiance. She was shooting about 7 yards, right before we left i put one at 12 yards. I thought it was kinda small at that range but that is me and i am still new.
tony357 386 Posted April 22, 2009 I printed one out and it is a couple inches larger than the ones i use at ten yards (30 feet) so it would be good to 15 yards or more depending on your shooting style.
kenw 293 Posted April 22, 2009 I haven't used the NJGF targets yet, but I've printed other full sheet 8.5x11 targets and used them at about 15 yards (the min. allowed distance at CR) out to about 25 yards and they're fine. It's a cool feeling to punch a bunch of holes into a 7" circle at 50' or so and then switch to full size torso targets and see how effective the tight grouping really is. Maksim 1,504 Posted April 22, 2009 I usually start shooting them at 7 yards for warmup, then move them out to 15/20 yards. But it is amazing how when you practice on these, and switch to full size... how tight the grouping is. you are right. I guess it is good practice for IDPA. I usually hang 2 side by side. Last time, I taped them onto a silhouette frame.... one in the middle of the torso, one on the head.
kenw 293 Posted April 22, 2009 one in the middle of the torso, one on the head I do that with Shoot 'n See targets. Big fun! K

Lublin 3 Posted April 24, 2009 Thanks for the targets! I printed one on an 8.5"x11" sheet and then blew it up to fit on an 11"x17" sheet on the copier at work. its a nice size and should work well.
Dblaze 0 Posted August 13, 2009 These are some great targets! I haven't used them yet, but I like the way they try to correct issues with trigger pull. Great post!
jersey_emt 2 Posted October 27, 2009 Cool targets, but what about a modified target for left-handed shooters?

jersey_emt 2 Posted October 27, 2009 Cool targets, but what about a modified target for left-handed shooters? turn it upside down.. LOL. But seriously, that wouldn't work...it needs to be a mirror image left to right but not top to bottom.

tbtrout 141 Posted December 12, 2009 That is just so wrong, next you will want the target controls at the range on the other side of the shooting stall.
matt6669 71 Posted December 12, 2009 That is just so wrong, next you will want the target controls at the range on the other side of the shooting stall. Why its not like he shoots and even when he does he doesn't actually move the targets away from the bench. How do you think he actually hits the paper?
Chad 3 Posted December 12, 2009 I didn't know the switch makes the target move, I was going to ask you to walk down range and place mine at 25 yards for me. I'm lazy yanno?
