I’m still not sure if a chamfer bit or step bit would be better.

Step 1:  remove magazine spring and follower.

Step 2:  drill a pilot hole through both divets.  Use a small pilot bit.

Step 3:  drill another hole using a bigger bit making sure you go straight through both holes.

Step 4:  repeat step 3 on the other side of the magazine body.  

Step 5:  reinstall magazine spring and follower and function check with ammunition. 

Step 6:  no step on snek

I'm not saying that you MUST clean your magazines all the time but one drop in Range 14 sand and they are crusty.
