I'll judge.

Maybe even bring some of my own. Sorry Tex, I believe in beans in Chili, and smoked brisket.

I do a smoked brisket chili that is out of this world.

I can’t fault you for liking beans in chili...you can’t help it, you’re a yankee. It’s not your fault you don’t know any better.

When I make my ‘contest’ chili, I use dried chili’s and grind them myself.

For ‘everyday’ chili, I use several varieties of pre ground. The flavor is slightly different, but still damn good.

It’s not hard.

Buy yourself an electric coffee grinder that you will ONLY use for dried chilis and have at it.

So what happened to the cashews after 5 hours in a crockpot?   I can see them taking some of the role beans do in a chili but I thought they’d soften to the point of being part of the base/thickener and not “chunks”.

I can see them breaking down to mush, but leaving the flavor. Probably an odd texture.

Meat and nut soup...

Cashew as a component of the sauce prob isn’t bad. Similar to some Indian recipes. Not sure how well that would go with beef and chili-type spices.

and everyone knows the best place to get nut soup is a 295 rest area.

This may be something that should not be invented.  Chili doesn’t have beans never mind nuts.  But alas, we are dealing with @Zeke

It’s like rilly good
