1 pointDid we / you expect anything different from a Jersey judge? Keep up the fight and maybe someday in the future things might change.

1 pointApparently Friday NY got told no for their extension. https://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/new-york-state-rifle-pistol-association-inc-v-city-of-new-york-new-york/ Jul 26 2019 Motion for a further extension of time to file respondents' brief on the merits denied.

1 pointThis thread is useless without pics. Mainly because I don't think Greenday is up to the task of accurately describing the failure. As he is describing it, the cartridge went wooshing past the chamber and was fully seated IN the barrel. That a .378" case head was jammed in a .224" hole without anything seeming weird. This is not possible. Which means he's not accurately describing what happened. The best guess any of us have trying to interpret that mess is that he bumped the shoulder back enough to make the brass essentially shorter than the chamber. We live in an age of ubiquitous cameras. Take a damn picture. Sheesh.

1 pointI'm very much against the death penalty carried out by the government. Essentially for three or four reasons. One, people have been proven innocent. Rare but it does happen. Two, it's the governmnet. They mess just about everything up. And I don't like the idea of giving them that option or level of power over citizens. Three, it's been proven that it costs about the same to keep people in prison for life as it does to execute them. People on death row use every trick in the book to either delay the sentence or fight it. It costs about the same to keep someone locked up as it does to execute them. Four, it's not a deterrent. To be a deterrent the sentence must be carried out swiftly and certainly That never happens. The death sentence doesn't deter anything.

1 pointThanks. You hear the stories of all of these superb bring backs being stored on a farm by a vet. This was a general estate auction in a big Quaker area. Guy passed away and this the auction. Farm equipment, guns, etc. Also for sale we’re some nice old Smiths, Colts, and a few shotguns. Colts were in beautiful condition. This was a smaller auction house that does not do online bidding and had no buyers premium which is just a wow. Colt Trooper Mark 3 E-nickel finish $675(worth about $2k) colt King Cobra $1k really nice Les Baer 1912 $1050 Norinco MAK90 like new in box $650 Armscor M1A $1100 (someone mentioned possibly mismatched barrel?) but apparently really good price. Just goes to show, keep options open and you can come across some nice guns and collector pieces for a good price. Overall, seems like gun auctions you either have some really good deals and a lot of stuff that goes for above retail.
