Keeping my hands warm is really the hardest part for me. I can generally tolerate it being very cold as long as I'm not sleeping in it. I would say the single most important item for me is the puffer coat. When I first moved to the area, I thought it was weird seeing all those puffy coats and held out the first year before I gave in. The strap helps a lot. It is a novelty, but you find a few convenient uses for it. My dad puts it in a saddle holster for when he mows the farm property.

Performance center shield. I like it better than the full size M&P. If you get 9mm then you'll likely shoot it more often. SW often gas various deals and they are great value for the price already.
