124gr9mm 859 Posted December 8, 2020 I wonder how much treasure and goods have been lost to the depths of the ocean over the last few centuries?
JackDaWack 2,895 Posted December 8, 2020 Its actually interesting that the person who owns the product is 100% liable for basically everything in thst photo, including the damn boat!! Imagine having to suck up the loss from losing your products, but then getting a bill to fix the damn ship too!

Especially considering you had no involvement in loading or securing the cargo.

I believe the term is ‘General Average’, if I remember from way back when. General Average
Sniper 6,372 Posted December 9, 2020 Update on what was in some of the containers. Also, it appears the ship turned back, so all those containers still on board aren't being delivered here. Of the 64 containers identified as carrying dangerous goods, 54 held fireworks, eight had batteries and two contained liquid ethanol, according to a ONE Apus information center update Monday. Ownership of the goods lost has not been revealed and thus it’s not known whether some New Year’s Eve celebrations will be dimmer with 54 U.S.-bound containers of fireworks lost at sea. Henry Byers, FreightWaves’ maritime market expert, said the top importers using ONE as their ocean carrier into Long Beach the past 30 days were Flexport International, MOL Consolidation, Topocean Consolidation, UPS Ocean Freight Services, DHL Global Forwarding, Kuehne + Nagel and C.H. Robinson. Rounding out the top 20 are Hecny Transportation, Rimports, Daniel M. Friedman & Associates, Apex Maritime, Hankook Tire America, Yusen Logistics, Ameziel, BDP Transport, Kintetsu World Express, Penguin Random House, Expeditors International, Harman International Industries and R.T. Express International. Still other ONE customers through Long Beach are Living Spaces Furniture, APL Logistics, Signal Products, Wilson Sporting Goods, Sumitomo Rubber North America, Lexmark Juarez Distribution Center, Guardian Technologies, Konica Minolta Business Solutions and Hasbro. https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/fireworks-batteries-and-liquid-ethanol-among-dangerous-goods-lost-sea-apus-containership
tony357 386 Posted December 9, 2020 Those containers will sometimes float, buddy of mine came up on one tuna fishing in the late 80's. Imagine hitting one of those containers running 25 plus knots would be real bad day.
