RadioGunner 218 Posted October 5, 2022 Another bill is coming. Probably first in the nation? California requires a psych eval for carry. NOt sure if they do for ownership. NJ would be the first to require it for ownership https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/bill-search/2022/A4717 No text yet, but we may see it soon. 1
father-of-three 243 Posted October 5, 2022 I'm pretty sure the legislature (and the governor) feels compelled to throw anything at restricting gun ownership to see what "sticks." The Bruen decision is a great one, but the Garden State bear has been poked.
RAYWOODROW3RD 5 Posted October 5, 2022 How about the same for those running for political office? Now THAT'S a bill I could get behind! RW3

voyager9 3,437 Posted October 5, 2022 I read elsewhere a very similar bill was proposed in 2013 and didn’t go anywhere. Hopefully the same thing happens with this one. It’s blatantly unconstitutional in multiple ways.

JackDaWack 2,895 Posted October 5, 2022 DOA These are the super duper feel good bills that go no where. California doesn't have a law for psych evaluation, some jurisdictions just add it to the application process. It actually works better that way for them when their is no law to fight in court. brucin 923 Posted October 5, 2022 Too bad the state doesn't have to pay the attorney fees when they lose.
