Please don't take offense to this, but if I'm gonna go all in then I wouldn't cheap out on the last thing.  Buy an EOtech or Aimpoint and coate them as well.  The Asian optic kinda ruins the lines.

Who cares about the lines if the rifle functions as he wants it to? This is the thing I hate about the gun culture, there’s always a voice telling you that your gun can look cooler.

"Here is a rare thing in the 1-8 scope world: an affordable one. While the market is well served by premium high end 1-8’s, there aren’t all that many that only cost a couple hundred bucks. Fortunately, Visionking brings one to the shooting market with this modestly priced and functional scope.

With the usual features you’d expect from a scope like multi-coated optics, water and fog proof construction, and even a red illuminated center reticle, this is a pretty rock solid scope for the money. While it claims to be a first focal plane scope, I’d take that with a bit of a grain of salt. However, these imported scopes can be very solid, and I have more inexpensive Chinese scopes on my rifles than I’d normally care to admit. If you need a basic 1-8 without spending the price of a used car, this is your scope."

I'm always open to opinions. I don't want a red dot. Talk me into a good scope that resembles the strike eagle. At least an 8x scope

Curious to hear why you don’t want a RDS?

The Strike Eagle 1-6 is an excellent value.

I know it’s not 1-8 but the Steiner 1-4 is amazing for the money at around $500.

You are going to pay for a quality 1-8.

Steiner 1x4 is a winner, as is the Primary Arms 1x8.

Thats a sweet setup on the spotting scope. Where did you get that phone mount?

For $8 I figure I'd try it. It works, but you have to have patience with it to get it all to line up. Best part is you can use the zoom on your phone to see even farther.

    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
