BBGun question(yes, I said bb-gun, don't flame me too badly)

Recommended Posts

I have this Daisy Red Ryder Carbine that I've been thinking about selling. It doesn't have any original box or paperwork and I have no idea when it was made. The only identifying marking I can find are Model 40, and what I believe to be the serial number, which is #1xx. Anyone know of a resource to figure out when it was made and perhaps what it could be worth? Thanks!

3 things to look for in an old Daisy thats worth anything

Wood stock, if its plastic fugetaboutit

Iron cocking lever, early red riders had an iron cocking lever, for that matter any iron lever daisy is older and better

copper barrel band, only the first year 1938 red rider had an copper plated barrel band.

that about sums it up, if it don't have #1 & 2 its not worth the trouble, if you have one with #3 then you have the only one worth while
