vjf915 456 Posted September 15, 2010 Does anybody else find it hard to believe that the first video is fake due to the cameraman standing directly behind the balloons this guy is shooting at?
Malsua 1,422 Posted September 15, 2010 The guy isn't a fake. Bob Munden has been around for a while. Why they didn't put a high speed camera up close and watch the frames is beyond me, but there you have it.
tony357 386 Posted September 15, 2010 I have watched his vids before.. truly amazing..
Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted September 15, 2010 Quick draw artists do not use ammunition with real bullets - they either use blanks or wax bullets. Fast, to me, is someone like Jerry Miculek or Ed McGivern, using real ammo. Not to say that Munden isn't spectacular at what he does, but I don't think he can hold a candle to Jerry or Ed when it comes to sustained, accurate rapid fire with a handgun - revolvers, no less. Miculek is still trying to break McGivern's record (set in 1932) of 5 shots on a playing card, in 2/5's of a second. The McGivern feat that astounds me though was his aerial shot. He was demonstrating his ability to a man by throwing steel washers, with a .5" center hole up in the air and shooting them. When the man pointed out that he had missed, McGivern told him he had simply shot through the middle. To prove it he covered the hole with tape and did it again. When the washer came down, there was a hole, cleanly through the tape. McGivern did his shooting with S&W .38 spl revolvers. Bullet diameter=.357" / hole in the washer=.50" Clearance around the bullet=.0715". Now that is amazing. You may want to check out the book: Fast & Fancy Revolver Shooting by Ed McGivern. Don't Tread On Me 4 Posted September 15, 2010 Bob looks exactly the same in the 80's as he does now.

Shane45 807 Posted September 16, 2010 On that Stan Lee show, the accelerometer said Bob's gun was pulling 10 G's on the Draw!
Caine 147 Posted September 16, 2010 If any of you have the Outdoor Channel, Bob Munden is on Impossible Shots almost every week... does trick shots more than quick draw stuff tho.

Yeah I saw him shoot a balloon at like 500 yards (It might have been more), with a snub nose, off hand.
John Fox 5 Posted September 16, 2010 I have two of his videos - one signed by him and I also talked to him and his wife on the phone. His wife is also a great shooter.

average joe 5 Posted September 16, 2010 And with a single action revolver , how fast would he be with an autoloader.
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted September 17, 2010 Probably slower. The recoil action of the slide moving takes longer than .02 seconds.
