Hey guys new member here, I never paid any attention to dicks sporting goods until a few weeks ago when I took a look at the weekly circular and saw that the prices were pretty good. After seeing this weeks ad I am interested in picking up the MARLIN MODEL 795 $125 w/$25mir or possibly the SAVAGE MARK II GXP $150. These prices are pretty good but I do have a question for members who have shopped a dicks for awhile. Based on your experience/knowledge of shopping at dicks sporting goods do their prices for firearms/ammo get any lower as it gets closer towards to holiday season(like end of November/Beginning of December)?

I stopped by the Brick location this afternoon and picked up a Marlin 795. Rebate was taken off at the register, so $100 for the 795 plus NICS and tax. Seems like a nice little rifle for the price. I'll put a few hundred rounds through it and review.

Took me 90 minutes from saying "I'll take one" to actually getting it out the door. Bunch of the usual paperwork, but back and forth to pay for NICS, approval from manager etc. i was the only person buying a firearm at the time, and it seems that it would be tough for the sales people if there had been a few gun buyers at the same time. Rich was a good guy to deal with. Biggest problem was milling around during the wait and not buying a bunch of stuff that i might need.

Holy cripes, didn't take me that long. The 795 is a great little plinker!

Stopped by the Brick store last night for a few things, Lodge was packed, talked with Chris, one of the managers, he said they were selling guns like crazy yesterday. I saw 4 rifles written up in a short time, plus one guy ordering a Benelli 12g. Staff was very nice, all seemed like they knew what they were talking about, and willing to help. I was surprised..
