robot_hell 72 Posted December 15, 2010 I'm out of ideas for a Christmas gift for my uncle. He's a fan of Corvettes, but I don't want the gift to be one of those cheesy branded luggages or crystal Corvette paperweights. Help me out here!

robot_hell 72 Posted December 15, 2010 2010 coupe. Previous owner of a Stingray, can't for the life of me understand why he sold it but I believe mechanical problems got the best of him and he wanted a driver, not a project car.
CageFighter 236 Posted December 15, 2010 I had an '07 black coup, then sold it. Now, im waiting for a deal to jump on a Z06.

robot_hell 72 Posted December 15, 2010 Looking to spend up to $150... can't really get parts for that, plus upgrades cost WAY more than that, I'd imagine.

Jon 264 Posted December 15, 2010 Lloyds mats would be a great addition: http://www.corvettemods.com/servlet/the-104/C6-Lloyds-Corvette-Front/Detail http://www.corvettemods.com/servlet/the-108/C6-Lloyds-Corvette-Front/Detail

Krdshrk 3,878 Posted December 15, 2010 I know - I just had to. How 'bout a Jada Toys Die Cast car? http://www.diecastfast.com/diecast/DCF/PROD/ZR1/DC118-ZR1-R

How 'bout a Jada Toys Die Cast car? http://www.diecastfast.com/diecast/DCF/PROD/ZR1/DC118-ZR1-R I'll look around at a few other diecasts, that one looks a bit shoddy. But a good suggestion nonetheless
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted December 15, 2010 I just used that as an example - there are a bunch of other ones.
Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted December 15, 2010 My Corvette has more trunk space than one of those newfangled POS wanna-be "gto's". No thank you. I beg to differ. I have 17.5 cu. ft. of trunk space and can comfortably accommodate four people - five if they're friendly. But I take no offense, I still have my first mid-life crisis car, a 1990 Z51 - but it pretty much just sits in the garage now. I can get my kicks with my EDD, my G8-GT. BTW, the Lloyds mats are a good idea. Adios, Pizza Bob<-----Cars & guns....gotta love em
JonF 79 Posted December 15, 2010 Hi-flow clutch slave cylinder. Or have they fixed those yet?

Ha, interesting that you should mention that - I wasn't aware there was a general problem, but I have had the slave cylinder replaced, but that was some time ago. Shawnmoore81 623 Posted December 15, 2010 Franklin mint models are good. I have a few of em. I'm a mustang owner though for my 2nd car
smoothie 0 Posted December 15, 2010 I have a corvette also....98 C5.... A nice gift would be one that was not corvette specific, such as was mentioned with a cleaning kit.... you could put something together yourself such as wax, polish, microfiber cloths, shammy for drying etc. You can put what you want in it and get as simple or exotic as you want while controlling the cost. Cylinder Head 22 Posted December 20, 2010 If it's a stick, get him a nice new shift knob. I got one for my father's Lingenfelter 383 and it's still his favorite thing on the car, aside from the 19" HRE's and the 500 horsepower motor.....

A good friend of mine has one in orange and ran 12s in the 1/4mi with nothing other than a catback and some tuning. It would be my first choice for a new DD. The GTO's trunk space w/ the gas tank behind the seats just makes me angry. Add in the bland styling and I have no interest in owning one. Hi-flow clutch slave cylinder. Or have they fixed those yet? Hardy-har-har. Yes they make a fix, and its less than $200. ....And no I haven't done it yet '63 Split Window Coupe here. But like most, don't drive it enough. Must see pictures!!
