Just brought home my first Shotgun!!

Ordered my first shotgun from BudsGunShop.com about a week ago and it just came in today!

Its main purpose is mainly going to be for a Home Defense Shotgun..

Hopefully I cant get to the range sometime this week to test it out...

I would say you have everything between 0 and 100 yards well handled. Those Storm Carbines are tack drivers.

Do any of you guys have a suggestion on a good round to use for Home Defense right now I have 00 Buck 0 Buck and a bunch of Slugs cuz they were Buy one get one half off at Dicks! any suggestions would help! I am new to the shotgun field

They say #1 buck is the best...personal prefrense.. I had some guy try to sell me LE buck shot to say it stays in the wad longer...I figured any buck shot would work.. I got buck 6 buck and 2 slugs for last in my mag.

depends on what you think YOU need. All the aforementioned will work, and some will even use birdshot.

 

My preference is 00buck, but you'll hear from slug guys, birdshot guys and there are crazy loads like the one from Remington that has the slug/buck shot.

Buy a bunch and blast away.

I heard somewhere that #4 is the safest but most effective but Im a member at SS and can only shoot #00,#0, and Slugs until I bring it to a shotgun range or something!!

 

Thanks for the Advice guys Ill keep you updated if I add anything but Im very content on how it is now already has a bunch of accessories on it right out the box...lol

I keep #4 plated buck loaded in the 500 for HD. I'm in an apartment, so I'm also concerned about overpenetration.

Nice purchase. Speedfeed is a nice feature, train with it so you get used to it.

 

Try to find 0, #1 or #4.

 

I personally use 0 because it is what I have the most of.

Just got done shooting my new mossberg at SS and this baby is so sweet.. The slugs and 00 kick hard but not as bad as I was expecting..even brought my mom along and she shot off a couple off slugs and handled it fine...overall awesome gun
