mipafox 438 Posted February 1, 2011 Oh, WTF. I guess that's the only thing left out so far this winter. They're telling me I'm going to get 7-15" of snow and then up to an inch of ice. It's a Class 3 Kill Storm! If my power goes out I'm screwed. We're only halfway through the winter season!

Babaganoosh 192 Posted February 1, 2011 I still have snow on the ground from the Dec 26th storm. Then theres more on top so I still have 2 feet of snow in my front yard. Ice is a **** compared to snow. Was going to go snowboarding tomo. Guess not.
Malsua 1,422 Posted February 1, 2011 I've already informed the boss that if this storm stays on track, I'm taking Wed off. I don't need 2-3 hours in, 2-3 hours out.
axeman_g 128 Posted February 1, 2011 All, This storms is going to be ugly for PA residents and NW Jersey folks. Looking at 4-8" of snow in East PA and 2-6" in N NNJ. The ice on Wed will be anywhere from .5" to 1" thick on trees and wires. If you have anything that needs elec to run, go supplement it now and plan for at least 7 days if you live in those areas. We activated our Emergency Coord Office from 7am till 7pm thursday at the minimum. I have a feeling I might be living there for the next week or so. Been spending my night getting my family ready, although NOAA say South Jersey will see snow tonight/tomorrow and rain mostly Wed.

kenw 293 Posted February 1, 2011 About an inch on the ground when I left the house this morning, and it's coming down pretty steadily now. Roads are sloppy, but doable if you take it slow. I think the real nightmare is gonna be this afternoon.

Krdshrk 3,878 Posted February 1, 2011 Central jersey is ok. However it was Icing up on my windshield. I cleaned off my car at about 7:30AM, and came out at like 8:15 - the windshield and side windows were iced already.... blarg.
axeman_g 128 Posted February 1, 2011 Starting tonight the icing will start. Expecting .5 inch+ in most areas. It is a great mix of sleet, freezing rain and fog freeze. Fun stuff to be sure. I think there will be massive power outages in Pa and NW NJ. Gunnyr, you might want to reschedule that drive. Be safe everyone.
Caine 147 Posted February 1, 2011 Local streets and Rt. 3 were a mess this morning.. very slushy.. took me about 45 minutes to get down rt. 3 to 495. Surprisingly 495 was practically empty.. 'cept for the bus lane which was at a complete standstill. Hopefully the commute back home isn't TOO bad. Tomorrow morning will definitely be interesting. bbk 188 Posted February 1, 2011 My dog was slipping and sliding around this morning on our walk (I commandeered a pair of those spikes for boots from awhile back). As for the roads, I'll be on them in the next two hours, so, I guess I'll see in a little bit.

kenw 293 Posted February 2, 2011 Not too bad up north. No freezing rain, just some gritty sleet. I was hoping for a winter wonderland covered in ice, but not this time. Looks like it's just raining lightly now.

Caine 147 Posted February 2, 2011 We got a decent amount of ice. It's raining now, but that just seems to be adding to the layers of ice till it warms up a little But at least the groundhogs say spring is coming early
