ShatterZ 0 Posted May 5, 2011 Hey Everybody, I just stumbled upon this forum (luckily) and hope to get some good advice especially related to ARs (looking to get one very soon). Been a member of Telco for about a year now and really enjoying the hobby. Been shooting trap and hand guns but really want to get a AR for the longer ranges and the fun factor . Hope to get lots of good info here

XDJohnTact 49 Posted May 5, 2011 Welcome to the forum from Toms River. Lot's of good AR reference info here. Are you going to buy a complete rifle or assemble it yourself? Plenty of great FFLs, stores and vendors here!

ShatterZ 0 Posted May 5, 2011 Welcome to the forum from Toms River. Lot's of good AR reference info here. Are you going to buy a complete rifle or assemble it yourself? Plenty of great FFLs, stores and vendors here! Not sure yet on the assemble or buy. I wouldn't mind buying complete, since this will be my first one, I am very mechanically inclined (I work on/rebuild diesel engines), but I figured that there might be a better chance of everything working and fitting together better. Thanks for the welcomes
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted May 5, 2011 If you can build engines, you can assemble an AR. Plus you can customize it to how you want it!
XDJohnTact 49 Posted May 5, 2011 If you can build engines, you can assemble an AR. Plus you can customize it to how you want it! I agree, it is almost rediculously simple to put one together. I have been a mechanic for 45+ years and these things really are cake to assemble. The money you save can be spent on ammo. Just my .
