Hornady stepping into the 1911/2011 game?

Recommended Posts

I doubt it. This is probably a promotion for their overpriced Steel Match ammunition.

Why would I want to pay more for this, than for domestic brass ammo? If I want to shoot steel cased ammo (which I don't), I'll buy imported stuff and save big bucks.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

If this is true, I honestly have lost a little respect for Hornady.

And as far as I can tell the slide serrations on the 2011 in the video looks like an STI Legend or IPSC

I know. lol. I'll most likely buy some. I want shotgun shells that say zombie on them. lol

That's about it.

Why not just make steel-cased FMJ ammo and price it a little higher than Wolf or Tula. Then it might sell.

Uh because you cna buy brass cased ammo with copper jacketed projectiles for $2 more a box, and walk home with reloading components afterward? Wold Is about $189 a thousand at the moment (50 boxes at $3.79 a box). I can currently buy privi m193 ammo for $289 and federal xm193 for $329.

If hornady sold decent steel cased ammo with copper jacketed projectiles at say.. $240 a thousand.. then I might buy them. For an extra $100 per k.. no. Pistol ammo is another matter. Cheapest I ahve foudn their .223 55gr steel amtch for is $312 per thousand.
