Caine 147 Posted December 16, 2011 http://www.gunsameri...new-gun-review/ Seems like a fun little gun, especially for those that already own an LCR and are looking for a cheap way to practice.
this_is_nascar 162 Posted December 16, 2011 Thanks for posting. I really like the looks of this pistol. I'm a die-hard .22LR person and this looks very appealing to me.

hd2000fxdl 422 Posted December 16, 2011 Very nice, still like the 617 w/6" barrel for what I want to use it for but would still like to have one of these, is there something sick about wanting 1 of everything??

this_is_nascar 162 Posted December 16, 2011 I hadn't realized the press release came out today. Ruger Introduces the LCR in .22 LR December 16, 2011 Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to announce the new Ruger® LCR-22, an eight-shot revolver that offers all the features of the award-winning LCR®, chambered in the popular and economical .22 Long Rifle cartridge. "The LCR has proven its worth since its introduction in 2009, and has become an extremely popular compact revolver for concealed carry," said Chris Killoy, Ruger Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Our customers asked for a rimfire LCR for low cost practice at the range, and the LCR-22 fills that need. Furthermore, this gun disputes the notion that small-frame, rimfire revolvers come with heavy trigger pulls; the LCR-22's non-stacking trigger pull is highly manageable. In fact, we believe the LCR has the best trigger pull of any factory double-action revolver on the market, and we urge our customers to visit their retailer and try it out for themselves," he concluded. The newest LCR maintains all the features of the critically acclaimed original LCR. The 1-7/8" barrel and eight-shot cylinder are constructed of stainless steel, and the cylinder is highly fluted to reduce weight. The frame is machined from an aerospace-grade aluminum forging, and the fire control housing is molded from rugged and durable glass-filled nylon. The fire control system utilizes Ruger's patented friction reducing cam that provides a uniquely smooth, non-stacking trigger pull. For more information on the new LCR-22 revolver, or to learn more about the extensive line of award-winning Ruger firearms, visit Ruger.com or Facebook.com/Ruger. Caine 147 Posted December 16, 2011 How does this moonshiner get to try out these new toyz first? He's gotta have some deal going with Ruger. He's always the first one to try out their new guns, followed by Hickok45 shortly after.
Sixtytwo327 14 Posted December 16, 2011 As a Ruger fan, I like it. Now, Ruger, will you please stop introducing new guns and start getting the PROMISED ONES ON THE D@#!M SHELVES ALREADY? I'm looking at you, SR1911 and SP101 in .22...
this_is_nascar 162 Posted December 17, 2011 As a Ruger fan, I like it. Now, Ruger, will you please stop introducing new guns and start getting the PROMISED ONES ON THE D@#!M SHELVES ALREADY? Ray Ray 3,566 Posted December 17, 2011 Way to go Ruger! I thought they would introduce a 327 version of the LCR but this one is just as cool.
alec.mc 180 Posted December 17, 2011 Ruger never promised a .22LR version of the SR1911, did they? I think he is refering to the lack of inventory when it comes to the sr1911, cannot find one anywhere.
Wolfy 51 Posted December 17, 2011 S&W has been making a version for years the 317 http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_764924_-1_757768_757767_757751_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted December 17, 2011 Not bad, but that's DA/SA with an external hammer. The LCR-22 is DAO with no external hammer. Not exactly the same, and the LCR is cheaper
Wolfy 51 Posted December 17, 2011 Nick good point about the external hammer. As far a price the Smith is an all steel gun not some new techno-tactical polymer with steel inserts. I prefer the 317 Kit gun. Standard 317 w 3" barrel and a fiber optic front sight.
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted December 17, 2011 S&W has been making a version for years the 317 http://www.smith-wes...playErrorView_Y Smith&Wesson better step up, Taurus and Ruger have become serious competitors.
Wolfy 51 Posted December 17, 2011 Ray Ray Ruger and Taurus still don't make a gun of the same quality of a Smith.
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted December 17, 2011 Ray Ray Ruger and Taurus still don't make a gun of the same quality of a Smith. Smith is playing catch-up with Ruger and Taurus. 5 years ago your statement held water, not anymore.
