I already mentioned this to the Wife, shes game to take a trip down. However I am not sure if I will be able to swing this being I am mostly working the first 15 days of each month and taking the 16 to the end of the month off, Plus it looks like I will be taking the whole month of July off, so my off time might be limited in Aug.

This is not nationals. Just do it. Think old bridge with more stages and more people.

It would be a great time. I tried looking it up but can't seem to find the info.

Do you shoot the 9-12th? Or do you just shoot one day like in OBRPC?

How many stages and what's the round count appx?

it will be 10 stages shot either all day friday, all day sat, or sat pm and sun am.

about 250 to 300 rounds.

yes, itis an area match, but plenty of new people shot it last year. it is a fantastic match to both shoot and work.

I will be there this year!

For anyone that is new, just go and shoot it. It is an Area match and if you want to go to the nats next year this is a way to earn a slot! Area matches are not any harder than local matches. Heck, if Vlad or Slav are involved in stage design then those stages are definately more difficult.

Shooting major matches are a great way to step out of your comfort zone and meet new people from all over the US. I never had a bad time at a big match!! They are always fun and worth it.

If anyone cares to see the Area 8 match here is a video of my mediocre performance this past Thursday.  Managed to get 212 Alphas, 7 Betas, 48 Charlies, 3 Deltas and unfortunately 5 Mikes.  At least no procedurals and no no-shoots.  Really did for crap on the first stage I shot (which was stage2), those doors did me in.  Had a heck of a time on the next to last stage I shot too, which was stage 14.  I'll tell you it was a grueling day.  Left the house at about 4:30am and did not get home till 8:30pm.

    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
