Anyone ever use Bright Sights gun paint?

My Colt 1911 doesn't have any markings on either sight (front or back) and I'm thinking about buying these to help acquire targets quicker.

 

Does anyone have any experience with these products or have anything else they'd recommend.

I have used white out on the front and left the back black..

First coat of white nail polish, followed by 2 coats of orange nail polish, with a single coat of clear high gloss. Easily visible in low and bright lights, and will cost you under $2.

I've used them ... and they literally fell off... maybe I didn't take all the oil off the sights first well enough... I'll be trying again in a day or so, will post results and maybe pics up here...

Testors Model Paint or Krylon Brights paint pens work well. Will definitely be doing this again to my next set of sights as well (hopefully Heinie's).

White color definitely made front sight more vincible,but as Fliks noted,it not going to stay

if you paint it on.It holding up inside cavity for original white dot on my MP45.

I tried on rear sight on BHSA,didn't even made to range,piled off inside the gun case.

IMO:replacing sight,is a best solution.

I use an acrylic paint for canvas that you can buy from any hobby/craft store. If you prep the sights properly, they will last for quite a bit. By prepping, it's as simple as removing any oil residue from the sights (I use isopropyl alcohol).

 

I use red on the front sight and black out the rear.

Looks like I shouldn't bother to order something special if I can use a bunch of homemade stuff.

I use auto paint, I get a paint pen from pep boys with a metal flake in it, I really like gm metallic Orange, but u can get white, pearl white and so on and it works great put it on once and never had to repaint

Hope it works out well for you! My buddy painted his g26 front sight a bright neon orange and I made my p30 front white. So far they have stood up pretty well. And if it ever does come off it is pretty much a 2 second touch up job. Since you paint models as well you probably have an extra fine brush so that will work just fine.

I actually heard just using the tip of a toothpick works just to put a drop of paint on.

I used the testor paint and it worked like a charm...we'll see how long it stays on.

Hobby shop paints. Orange on the front and bright green on the rear

I find the paint on the thick side. It would probably be good to fill in a dot. If you're doing a sight post, I would try nail polish or a paint marker from the hobby store.

Just used hot red over base coat of white a few weeks ago...200 rounds last week showed it helped tighten up my shooting.
