Gunman May Be Near Hackettstown HS, Town on Lockdown

To any members in Hackettstown, stay safe! There's a report of an armed man running around. The High School has been put on lock down (http://www.hackettst...ite/default.asp) and people I know at Centenary College are getting alerts via the college's alert system.

Heard the same. I think this is a person with an agenda.

Either trying to get his 15 minutes or a guns are evil type.

It has been crazy here all morning. NJSP Helicopters still flying around overhead. Apparently someone called in a threat, saying they are in the woods outside the school with an "ak47".

 

On our local news, they did say a Quick Check was robbed, during the same time, and someone was shot. Can't say anything is a reliable source, as I didn't hear about it on any scanners.

 

They are pulling over anyone in block coat/sweater, or with a backpack. All schools have been on lockdown, and NJSP has setup some road blocks out of town.

Yup when I heard that, I figured that was the case. Until anything gets confirmed I am thinking its all BS at this point.

Glad there was no tragedy here. It's sad in this day in age, but it's better to be cautious with all the crazy things going on. I hope they get the a**hat that phoned in that original call.

If it was a hoax and they can catch the guy and prove it was him I say he deserves the same punishment as someone who actually shot up a school. We need harsher penalties for stupid.
