diamondd817 827 Posted April 2, 2012 2 different types of shooting. Both fun though. Remington 597 Mossberg 715T
when_shtf 4 Posted April 2, 2012 .22 rifles are fun to shoot for the same reasons a .22 pistol are great fun: - low recoil, very accurate - cheap ammo - low purchase price There is a reason these rifles are so popular. Go shoot one and see what I mean.

lunker 274 Posted April 2, 2012 So you can hit what you're aiming at 75 yards.
RedBowTies88 41 Posted April 2, 2012 only 75? I say Marlin
hiker88 22 Posted April 2, 2012 more fun... not sure. But with ammo cheap enough that you can be at the range for a couple of hours shooting over a thousand rounds, you would want some "variety" on how you're going to send those rounds downrange. this_is_nascar 162 Posted April 2, 2012 Why not have both? I think I'm starting to prefer the concept of rifles/long-guns over pistols, due to the transport laws in NJ. Taking a pistol to the range is so much more convenient, but not being able to legally make a trip deviation really sucks. Both .22 rifles and pistols are fun to shoot. I couldn't see me not having each a .22 rifle and .22 pistol.
BlueLineFish 615 Posted April 2, 2012 Because more guns equals more better...lol. No my English is not that bad.
Urban Grunt 44 Posted April 2, 2012 Go to one of the gun forum meet & greets and try a bunch of different .22's.

Krdshrk 3,877 Posted April 2, 2012 You may need to pop a zombie from further away than 10 yards.
TheLugNutZ 21 Posted April 2, 2012 only 75? I say Marlin 795 x2
gunnyr 17 Posted April 3, 2012 Because it's a cheap .308 trainer. The dope changes for a .22 rifle at 200 is very close to the dope for a .308 at 400 yards. Assuming of course that you are using scopes with similar moa clicks and magnification...and a decent .22 rifle. http://www.6mmbr.com/rimfiretactical.html
MedicYeti 96 Posted April 3, 2012 Personally I like 22 rifles for a number of reasons. They are cheap to shoot and have no recoil so I can shoot 500 rounds in a trip and not take a big hit in my wallet or have a sore sholder. Minimal cost and recoil also allow me to shoot to practice my basics so when I switch to centerfire I have the basics and muscle memory fresh in my mind. I also enjoy the challanged of shooting 22 rifles. Try open sights at 200 yards..... That's a fun challenge.
