Caine 147 Posted April 12, 2012 Wow, S&W is going all out with marketing campaign on this one
Vlad G 345 Posted April 12, 2012 That frame safety looks near impossible to hit in the heat of the moment unlike the 1911. I'm locked out of S&W's website here at work - can anyone see whether it's Safe Action or other? Its probably the same action as the regular M&P on a narrower chassis. The safety is there because someone was going to ask for it and the normal M&P one would have not worked. Guessing you can ignore it, like you can ignore it on a normal M&P, but who knows. 67gtonut 847 Posted April 12, 2012 Knowing the M&P ..... I am sure the safety can be defeated. I am not even worried about it And yes...... TJ has already received an email from me ...LOL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk excuse the spelling

Underdog 1,593 Posted April 12, 2012 It seems nice, but I would probably prefer a Ruger SR9C. http://www.shootingt...sson-mp-shield/

Ray Ray 3,566 Posted April 13, 2012 why not just ignore its presence? Because it might be activated when you thought it was deactivated at the wrong time.
david8613 69 Posted April 13, 2012 would like to see this side by side to the kahr pm9, I think it's slightly bigger. I noticed also the beretta nano is also a little bigger than the pm9, shouldn't these be getting smaller not bigger?
Sivl32 27 Posted April 13, 2012 hmmm now springfield has to hurry the fugg up and release the xds in all calibers... tho this will still be like 1/2 the price. hmmm do i want it or do i wait? sitting on 2 permits.

deni 16 Posted April 13, 2012 Another short video Goes straight into talking points about trigger and safety More positive, audible reset on the trigger. S&W will be putting same improvements into full sized m&p in the future
BlueLineFish 615 Posted April 13, 2012 Must see size comparison to my cm9. Also the safety must be removed
TheLugNutZ 21 Posted April 13, 2012 Looks like its slightly bigger than the CM/PM. Little wider, longer and taller
Shocker 151 Posted April 13, 2012 The Gunnuts guys tried to "accidentally" activate the safety and they couldn't, FWIW

9X19 125 Posted April 14, 2012 My guess is that these should take quite awhile to hit dealer's shelves...
deni 16 Posted April 14, 2012 My guess is that these should take quite awhile to hit dealer's shelves... I think s&w's strategy with this is, according to what I've seen and read, to have a big nationwide release more in line with say how a video game or a movie is released. When it becomes available it will be available in numbers. That's why there was no shot show preview(I think) They wanted to reveal it shortly before it would be widely available. Unlike the rest of the industry(cough*keltec*cough) Good on s&w
67gtonut 847 Posted April 14, 2012 A few of the guys on the M&P forum already picked em up today.....

Tosser 61 Posted April 14, 2012 why not just ignore its presence? Because it's not 100% guaranteed to not engage.
Vlad G 345 Posted April 14, 2012 Because it's not 100% guaranteed to not engage. Well I'm sure that problem can be solved with a couple of spare minutes, some punches, and some ingenuity. I'm not particularly pleased that they chose to put a safety on it either, but I'm sure it is a solvable problem.
