Is everywhere sold out of 223 / 5.56 Ammo?

I've been to every store around me that sells ammo. I know all ARs are sold out but is the market bled dry of ammo too? Am I totally out of the loop???

It is exceptionally hard to come by. Prices through the roof, if you can find it online. Not sure of any retail stores that has any.

They have it and On sale !! I was looking at the winchester 55 grain 223. Its cheaper then the remington.

I still have a couple of hundred rounds left but I'm tempted

14.99 a box. There were multiple people doing the back and forth trip. Bring cash, and a friend/wife. Make it faster running two people and cash wont kick up multiple purchases like a card would.. use a different cashier each time.

Yeah, my son was there Friday, he said they had plenty, and I asked him to check the price. When he told me, I told him I would wait. I still have a couple rounds inn the safe

Far from it. Cabela's is only backordering .223 right now. That isn't to say that they won't ship in a week or less though.

I usually buy pmc for $6 a box. Heratige in branchburg sells federal xm193 for 7.99 if I remember

HG in Branchburg sold me a bunch @ $8 per box last week, when they were almost out. Good on them for holding their prices in the face of this panic and not limiting purchases.

ammo will be back around in a month or 2. its not hard for the companies to crank out hundreds of thousands of rounds fairly quick. they know everyone is panic buying and they dont want to miss the profits that will be made by it. actual guns will take longer because they are more labor intensive but i expect by may or june things will start to normalize.

yeah that is a lot. I was looking at ammo prices before the panic. I just bought the AR from Maksim and I really want to take it out. I may buy a box or two just so I can take the AR out.

Tell me about the insanity on .223. Picked up some plain-jane XM193, 1000rds for $349 delivered 12/1. I saw the same selling for $885 on the 26th! OUCH!

I stocked up and have about 3k rounds that I averaged out at $.38 per. Happy with that given the current climate.

I bought 1k of pmc xtac from cabellas last week shipped at .40c/rd. I thought that was reasonable considering everything going on. Prob shoulda got more before it went out of stock.

 

Sitting on enough .223 and 556 to shoot for a long time at this point.

This is getting so redundant where people say there is "lots of 223 ammo out there" but they don't specify the brand or prices..

 

yes, there is ammo to be had if you want to run stuff that is 30% or higher in price than "regular" ammo.

 

Its like saying there is plenty of gasoline, if you want to buy Premium.. and not regular..
