chris327 30 Posted March 6, 2013 would you or any of you recommenced buying a ria 1911 as a first 1911? thinking of using a permit on a 1911 but not sure if i should get a rock island, a taurus, or lower end para ordnance.
hiker88 22 Posted March 6, 2013 It depends on your budget. I also own a RIA and has been running excellent after a brief break in period. There are plenty of good reviews out there. Slide to frame fit is tight and accuracy is excellent. The finish is typical of 1911's at around the $500 mark. If you're willing to spend a little bit more, you can go for an STI Spartan, Ruger SR1911, SA, etc.
chris327 30 Posted March 6, 2013 im looking around 500 for this one, thats why the ria and taurus are right around it and ive seen para ordnance lower end ones around 600. not looking to go much over 600 for it.
Maksim 1,504 Posted March 6, 2013 let the 1911 habit begin.
