You can modify a 20 round mag that has been blocked down to 15 rounds. All you need is a roll pin and once installed it is no longer removable. Finding the 15/20 mags is not easy. I like the look but do not like the reliability of the aftermarket mags. Good luck.

In addition to being illegal in NJ, I never saw a SKS that fed reliably with detachable magazines. Check out sksboards.com.

Being a semiauto with a fixed magazine opens a lot of possibilities to customize a SKS. You can use a folding stock with a pistol grip, flash surpressor, etc and still be legal in NJ because it doesn't have a detachable magazine.

Find stripper clips that work for fast reloads.

Thanx for the info guys I had no idea. Looks like Ill just get a supressor and use stripper clips. How bout a extendable stock?

As long as you have the fixed magazine you can put whatever you want on your SKS. You have to pay attention to 922r though.

You certainly will not LOL

Lol ! I bet GRIZ completely missed that because it was so unexpected.

Didn't miss it. Just didn't get up that early.

Remixer, please explain your position on "you certainly will not". The NJ law on "substantially identical" starts out with "a semiauto rifle with a detachable magazine". No detachable magazine none of it applies.

A flash surpressor is not illegal by itself. It is just one of the "evil features". If you put a flash surpressor on a Mini 14 with a regular stock and that is the only evil feature you are still within the law.

I realize surpressor was misspelled but your comment is misleading.

flash surpressor is not an issue.
