Active shooter in Philly

In this case I think you are framing the question about the red flag law incorrectly.

The police flagged this dude previously. The system ignored it. Why would adding another law that the DA is free to ignore going to help with the DA ignoring people breaking the law?

I don’t disagree with your point. The DA screwed the pooch big time on this one.

I meant in general...people who are ‘called in’ as a threat to someone, being denied due process, having firearms taken away from them and their rights stripped.

It was a state PD helicopter with a bomb provided by a Federal I forgot if it was ATF or FBI

It was an "entry device", not a bomb!  The FBI loaned it to us but we broke it! The resulting fire was caused by gasoline cans the Move members had stored on the roof, not the "entry device".:)

yea 'cause everyone stores cans of gas on the roof.

Police had cut power to the house much earlier and the Move members were powering the house with a gas generator that was stored inside the rooftop bunker.

Back to Wednesday's shooting:

And now the authorities are saying the shooter used an AR15 and expended about 100 rounds.

The politicians make it sound like a ton of ammo.

Sounds more to me like a normal range session or a high power match.

Funny that this is the first mention of an ar being used as opposed to it every third word being ar-15, assault weapon, or weapon of war in the “live coverage” and breaking reports all over the web .......I’m going with Taurus/high point, or other street bought gun  and they’re running the story back and changing it as they love to do when it’s not how they want.

I had to laugh. A male reporter on Fox 29 was on with 'new information' early yesterday evening. One of the new items was that the rifle had been identified as an "AK-15".

I rewound that several times to make sure I got it right. I'm a stickler for detail.

    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
