3 pointsTomorrow marks the beginning of the battle of Midway, the turning point in the PTO. On June 3, 1942 the initial sightings of Japanese forces en-route to Midway are reported. The Americans strategically place their ships and on June 4th the real fighting starts. In the end, we sink 4 Japanese carriers, they sink the Yorktown. The Japanese Navy will now be on the defensive for the remainder of the war. The strategies used in this battle will influence Naval doctrine through the present. https://www.navy.com/battle-of-midway

3 pointsIncorrect. You still have not cleaned Mrs Z's shotgun. Anyway, Krdsrk is right. I don't think I have ever cleaned my 870....

2 pointsI've been asked but only because I was rear ended coming home from shooting clays. 3 shotguns in the front passenger compartment of my jeep. 2 in socks and 1 with no case, all unloaded. Cop looked at the guns and asked me if they were unloaded which I responded yes because they were. That was the end of the discussion about guns. Honestly I hope I get pulled over one day and some rookie cop decides to arrest me for legally transporting guns. I'll pull a Mr Dow and fall and break my jaw. When my lawyer is done with them I'll open the first NJGF range and you all can come and shoot for free!

1 pointMany overlook the significance of Midway. The credit for knowing it was going to happen belongs to what we would today call a nerdy code breaker. Bull Halsey was laid up so we had our second choice carrier group commander ran it. Our carriers had to make repairs while underway as they were returning from the Battle of the Coral Sea. When you look at the numbers we sent vs the Japanese we should have lost. Yet we smeared them. Inflicted casualties on the Japanese way more than might be expected. How's that for what someone referred to in another post as "American Exceptionalism".

1 pointThat statement is ignorant. We have 870's in our inventory that are over 20 years old and that get fired way more than most people will ever shoot them.

1 pointWhat range distance will you be shooting the majority of the time ? I ask because if your shooting from 50 to 300 yards then you would be better off with a quality AR15 in 223 Wylde if your just starting out. A good precision match grade barrel and crisp aftermarket trigger would take you a long way with that caliber. You would learn how to operate the gas gun with a cartridge that has less recoil. Wind would play a bigger factor at distance but thats a good thing too. Reading the wind is a world class skill that only comes with lots of experience. Also, if you dont reload then there are a lot more choices for factory match grade ammo for less money in the 223/5.56 caliber then the 6.5 Grendel. At the end of the day if your still lusting for the 6.5 Grendel then you can always buy a quality upper and swap it out on your lower. Just my 2 cents.

1 pointIt's a bogus code. While the receiver codes do exist individually they were not stamped together. There is a earlier war dual code rifle with a BCD/AR marking. The receiver stamping on this rifle are crudely done by hand. The 2 factories stamped are in different countries. A lot of parts were often out sourced on late war rifles but not like this. The stock would more than likely not have a sn externally and it should be a full or semi Kriegsmodell type. Byf 44 L block on had this type of stock. Yes it is possible for the rifle to be pristine after all these years. These are all legit collectibles, some are unfired.

1 pointFortunately, I have a set of neighbors who actually want their sons to learn responsibility, work ethic, customer service, the value of a dollar, etc. So, I've had the 17 year old mowing for the last few years and once he heads off to college I'm hoping the younger son will be ready and willing to become my next lawn slave. (I enjoy weed wacking, but I hate mowing - so it's worked out well for everyone).

1 pointI use a Honda 4 stroke trimmer. Yes, it's expensive, but buy once cry once. Grew up using Honda lawn equipment. With the 4 stroke, no mixing 2 stroke oil with the gas. Change the oil once a year and plenty of power. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

1 pointWhere do you FIND a teenager to cut grass (or shovel snow) these days?? In my 17 years in NJ, I have not ONCE had a kid offer to cut my grass or shovel my snow. Maybe its my big mean redneck personality...... Oh, and to add to the thread, I use a Husqvarna commercial gas string trimmer. Not that I have a huge yard, but the commercial grade stuff gets better engines and components.

1 pointI wouldn't buy a new one. They are way overpriced IMO. I want one with a 3 1/2" barrel. They don't make those anymore.

1 pointObstruction for what Ray posted would be a hard sell to a judge at best, and most likely completely inappropriate to even consider Caveat: We can "what if" this to death but it all depends on why the car was stopped and what questions the driver was refusing to answer.
