Here is Bit of GOOD News for a change, I just got this response from the ANJRPC-Strikeforce, a response to my e-mail concerning the "no carry while driving" restriction, I am sure they don't mind me sharing...Great to hear this, there is no way that restriction will stand even if we have to sue. "We’re already on this. Thank you for your report. Dan"

Morris County update. I called down to the Morris County courthouse today to see if my application has been received. It wasn't in the stack just yet. However, I took the opportunity to have a chat and find out from the person that handles our applications directly what the deal is for Morris County. - Since July, MC has issued approximately 90 permits. - He has about 100 apps on his desk right now - He says once received, they do process very quickly - I asked if Morris County judge is requiring court appearance. He laughed pretty hard and said no. He said court appearance would be requested only in situations where there are actual questions, such as: Applicant has had lots of contacts with law enforcement, convicted felon living in the home, maybe someone living in the home going through some sort of drug recovery, etc... I will continue to check back and see what the status is with mine. I did appreciate that he genuinely thought it was funny when I asked about the court appearance.

I hope everyone is contacting ANJRPC about this no Car-carry issue to voice your concerns...This is relatively a new issue as the permits post SC ruling just starting to trickle out so we need to let them know, the more of us who contact them the better...Call them (it is only an answering machine) and e-mail the Stikeforce both contained on this link...You do not have to be a member to do this (but if you aren't a member shame shame only $40 for non range membership): If we don't complain, we can only blame ourselves - in addition to how unconstitutional this Judge overreach is on the face of it, remember to articulate the risk to our lives if we have to load the gun in public: https://www.anjrpc.org/page/A_Strikeforce

So what has changed since then? America is the most medicated country in the world. Over 30% of the population has been prescribed anti-depressant drugs. 17% are currently on anti-depressants. Many drugs today have suicidal and homicidal thoughts as side effects. We have pharmaceutical reps who get paid big bucks for convincing doctors to prescribe more drugs. Consumers are shown advertisement for drugs on TV that tell them to go ask their doctor to prescribe those drugs to them. We used to have hospitals and facilities for the mentally ill. Now we just have drugs for them. By far the largest lobbying industry in America is big pharma, spending 2x more than the next biggest industry. They want to hold gun manufactures and gun stores accountable, but they won't hold pharmaceutical or doctors accountable for over prescribing drugs with suicidal or homicidal thoughts as side effects. Too much money to be lost by big pharma and the politicians they support. https://www.businessinsider.com/countries-largest-antidepressant-drug-users-2016-2?op=1 https://thewashingtonstandard.com/most-medicated-country-in-the-world-nearly-half-of-americans-have-taken-a-pharmaceutical-drug-within-the-last-30-days/ https://bpr.berkeley.edu/2021/11/07/americas-epidemic-of-antidepressants/ https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/6/14/17458726/depression-drugs-suicide-side-effect https://rxisk.org/drugs-that-can-cause-depression-agitation-suicidality/ https://www.statista.com/statistics/257364/top-lobbying-industries-in-the-us/ https://www.cchrflorida.org/antidepressants-are-a-prescription-for-mass-shootings/ https://www.psychreg.org/antidepressants-ssri-mass-shootings/

Purchased US lawshield last week based on your previous advice - I think it's an incredibly important backup when you're dealing with possible life-altering legal issues.

Yep...Least we forget, freedom cost money, I hope everyone is a member of ANJRPC and donates even beyond the measly $40 dues...Of course I am an NRA member also, but IMO, I give ANJRPC the priority, they do great work considering how the odds are stacked against 2A in NJ...But the SCOTUS gave us a 2A "BOOSTER-SHOT" in June so things will change for the better from here.

You're reading the wrong section of 2C:3-4. What you quoted are the general rules, which include when you are out in public. This is what applies when you are in a dwelling: Note that it says a dwelling, not your dwelling and what little you have to do to justify deadly force in c.(2)(b). c. (1) Notwithstanding the provisions of N.J.S.2C:3-5, N.J.S.2C:3-9, or this section, the use of force or deadly force upon or toward an intruder who is unlawfully in a dwelling is justifiable when the actor reasonably believes that the force is immediately necessary for the purpose of protecting himself or other persons in the dwelling against the use of unlawful force by the intruder on the present occasion. (2) A reasonable belief exists when the actor, to protect himself or a third person, was in his own dwelling at the time of the offense or was privileged to be thereon and the encounter between the actor and intruder was sudden and unexpected, compelling the actor to act instantly and: (a) The actor reasonably believed that the intruder would inflict personal injury upon the actor or others in the dwelling; or (b) The actor demanded that the intruder disarm, surrender or withdraw, and the intruder refused to do so. (3) An actor employing protective force may estimate the necessity of using force when the force is used, without retreating, surrendering possession, withdrawing or doing any other act which he has no legal duty to do or abstaining from any lawful action.

I agree 100%. I expect to receive my permit from the Ocean County Court with said restrictions and have plans to do exactly as you suggest. I looked into the non-range membership but could not find the page for that, just regular range option. I donated more than the non range cost while there, money well spent.

Winner winner chicken dinner! You have been approved, just need to do it through the Courts. Get US lawshield so it only costs $150 for the year.

I think it means it is deemed approved by the police chief. I think you still need a judge to approve and get an issued permit card

Thank you for noticing, @Golf battery - this initially slipped past us. @[email protected] - I moved this into the WTS section for you, but kindly look at the instructions for posting at the top of the WTS section and then amend your post to include the special wording required on all WTS posts. Thank you! And good luck with your sale. Perhaps these couple of posts moving it back into view will get you some interested buyers! :-)

IANAL, but, as I read it....... If you look at the ATF 4999 worksheet... Section 1... question 2 asks... "The weapon must have an overall length between 12 and 26 inches. Weapon must meet both Prerequisites in order to proceed to Section II." NJ others have a length over 26" as measured from the end of the barrel to the end of the buffer tube. So..... Our "others" are not subject to these regulations.

Update from Hoboken/Hudson County - I'm now at 61 days since submitting my application. No letter from the PD or the courts; and the PD guy has not returned at least two VM's that I've left him over the past week to discuss the fingerprint issue that I *think* was resolved. I'm trying to be patient, but it seems like folks here have had some success with calling the courts to get a sense of whether they've even received the package to approve. Who did you call? Is there a general administrator at the courthouse that you called? Thanks all.

Yea, no matter what, we are ahead of the game, who would have thought the NJ-AG would capitulate in 1 day, I figured 6m-a year of litigation...This driving thing will not stand long, it is so absurd on the face of it, but someone has to start the suite. It is a mixed bag, if we all get hosed, anjrpc will likely act, if a relatively few get hosed they might have to sue on their own...I'll try talking to the PD too, I live in a heavily republican district and the Ladies down at the firarm recodes department have been absolutely spectacular with support, but either way ANJRPC or not I will lawyer up and fight for my rights.

I would correct you on one thing. NJ law doesn't actually permit the Judges to do anything post Bruen. Bruen states the permitting process must be objectionable, and can only restrict sensitive places... Right off the bat, if even one person gets different restrictions then another, "objectionable" is off the table. And a car on a public road is in no way a sensitive place. The legislation is not directing the outcome, Bruen is, or the judges lack of respect for Bruen. I'd honestly, if I were him, begin looking into suing for judicial misconduct and seeking to remove judicial immunity from the judge. It's a long shot, but something needs to happen.

Burlington county: Alex (firearms guy for court) originally said no hearing. When I spoke to Judge cooks office last week they said a hearing is required for everyone and that letters went out and should be arriving soon. After that conversation Alex again told people no hearing required. Just got my letter to appear today. Seems like Alex is wrong/misinformed. Unless there’s an issue with mine specifically …but the asst prosecutor told me via email they approved my app. At this point in time I assume it’s for everyone until I hear differently.

Which is ridiculous because all she needs is a rubber stamp. There is no more need for her, or any other judge or prosecutor, to decide whether or not you are worthy of a permit. Pass background check? Mental health check? Here's your permit. That's how it should go Frankly, if someone is deemed unsafe to carry a firearm, why would they be allowed to own them and purchase them? If you have an FID, and have received pistol purchase permits, is that not proof enough that you also have the ability to carry? Or is there a threshold where you aren't enough of a crazy or criminal that you can own, but too much of a crazy or criminal to carry?

in all honesty. this thread is becoming nothing but a full blown assumption pool with people putting in their two cents. this is supposed to be a thread for different experiences from people who received their permits or any other CONFIRMED permits not some random picture posted on an unknown permit with zero information provided.

Francisco is from monmouth. His permit is from monmouth. Signed by monmouth. On his video, he reads the entire page of restrictions. You can read the order from the photo posted from ocean county, and it matches exactly with what Daniel is reading. Essentially verifying that at the very least 1 person from monmouth and 1 person from ocean received the same exact order of restrictions, at virtually the same exact time. Within the same video, Daniel acknowledges a comment from someone watching his live stream that the same order has been handed out in ocean county.

You mean I can't just blast a shotgun through my closed front door? On a more serious note, a guy in NJ is headed to jail pretty soon for punching, and killing, a person who was trying to break into his car. The reasoning for the charge? He didn't first ask the perp to fuck off. Yes, you have to actually tell someone to not steal your property before attempting to stop them from doing so.

NJs SBR definition is statutory, and an "other" falls outside the language as confirmed by the NJSP. Federally, they are redefining through ATF rules and regulations what an SBR is... My IANAL response would be that the federal law is more restrictive than the state. So a federally defined SBR, mat not be an SBR by NJ standards... even if you have a tax stamped and registered SBR.. you would still be required to keep the brace on it... where many people in free country will be able to finally throw a stock on without paying the 200 bucks.

This is why anyone taking this seriously should be shooting as much as possible. I'm shooting twice a week and feel it isn't enough. If a guy walks into a food court trying to tag as many people as possible, obviously your own life is at danger. Unless you're planning on dodging random bullets matrix style? You can't just stand there like a moron while you think about if you're good enough to not hit Marysue. Regardless, you need to ask yourself if one life is worth the risk to save countless others. I don't know if I could live with myself afterwards, but I would have to try. If you're not willing to be the good guy with the gun, why bother with the permit at all?

Dude, I've been trying to get people to understand that for over ten years. Once the scary black rifles get banned, then they turn their attention to every other SA, like the Ruger Mini, Remington 750 and even grandpa's Garand. They will point out, in a reverse argument used by AR owners for decades, that there is no functional difference between an AR and any other SA rifle. The 2A community has said "there is no difference between an AR and gramps' blued rifle with a straight wood stock. The retardocrats took that to heart.

"Allowed" doesn't really put it into context. The law was passed, but its going to be challenged. I read somewhere everyone up there is pretty pissed off about that
