  1. I have seen 2A groups come here and some members seem to do their best to drive them away with negative attitude towards anything the pro 2A folks are trying to do.
  2. For the folks that have shipped a sight in to the PA law firm, did you receive any sort of acknowledgement or receipt? I submitted an online claim and am having a hard time with the whole shipping of my sight with no guarantee.
  3. I found that buying property outside of NJ was a lot less hassle. In NJ you are conditioned to look for regulations on every aspect of your life. When I moved in to my house in VA I asked about a permit to have my driveway modified along with some other improvements. The county person looked at me and said " Why would you need a permit for that? It's your property". Freedom takes a bit of time to get used to for a refugee from NJ.
  4. The real question that has to be asked is why doesn't everyone on this board apply? What is the worst that could happen? They say no. I realize that people are afraid of the question on the PP that asks is you were ever denied. Has this ever affected anyone getting a PP after a denial for a carry permit? I believe that NJ gun owners would have a much stronger argument that NJ doesn't issue carry permits. The lack of applications/denials on paper indicates that NJ approves a large number of carry permits (due to the fact that those applying are security/retired police officers). Just saying that the application will be denied and complaining about it will achieve nothing. I believe that for you guys to move the argument you need to be able to show that NJ does deny the majority of applicants. According to the numbers this is simply not the fact.
  5. All of my target guns are shot with a 6 o'clock hold. My less accurate "combat" guns are shot covering the bullseye.
  6. Those ages are for purchase. There is no Federal law against owning a long gun, Federal law states that you must be at least 18 to own a handgun. Under Federal law FFL's cannot sell a handgun to someone under 21, but a non-FFL can sell a handgun to someone who is at least 18.
  7. My 229 shoots low with 115gr bullets but is dead on with Speer 124gr GDHP. What type of sight picture do you use? Sig are supposed to use a combat sight picture. Here is a quote from Sig on the matter "All SIG SAUER production duty/combat pistols are set up to use a “combat” sight picture. This is where the front sight completely covers the bullseye of the target. Using a six o’clock (“pumpkin on a post”) or center mass (“half’n’half”) sight picture will result in low impact. SIG SAUER, Inc sights in all non-sporting and non-target pistols for 2.5 inch groupings @ 15 yards."
  8. Winchester is the big city for me. I joined a club there that costs $60/yr to shoot. Let me know their info and I will contact them to shoot. Winchester is 17 miles from me.
  9. Not Not true, the state is absolutely pro 2A. Look at the latest defeats the governor just had concerning 2A. The lobby here is very strong. The number of counties that are pro 2A far outnumber the anti side. The number of counties that are pro 2A far outnumber the anti's by quite a bit in VA.
  10. I agree with mipafox 100% on this. You really need to leave the cesspool of NJ/NY and live in the USA. I carry 2 guns every day in VA to work and allow my employees to carry if they wish. NJ sucks bad, it rots your brain.
  11. I bought a barely used Taurus 327mag snub for a really good price. It is awesome. Great fit and finish. It is small enough to pocket carry and packs a punch.
  12. The only regret about leaving NJ was that I didn't do it years earlier.
  13. I carry every day and found the G43 was not worth it for me because I have a G26. I am considering the Kimber K6S as my everyday gun.
  14. I believe that was when Florio was Governor. He also brought the AWB to NJ on his watch.
  15. Newtonian provided you with very solid advice. I would also recommend that you also look into website design for other types of businesses once you get established.
  16. I recall that the device at the end of the issued M16A2 is referred to as a muzzle compensator, not a flash suppressor/hider. That was one of the improvements over the M16A1. Many manufacturers of muzzle brakes also refer to them as compensators.
  17. It is much easier to move to a free state than wait around for NJ law to change. I can't believe I stayed in NJ as long as I did. My only regret is not leaving sooner.
  18. Are there any other states that have crap laws about hollow points? Never heard of this outside of NJ.
  19. Closed bolt, belt fed, semi-auto. Makes absolutely no sense at all.
  20. I agree with this. Every time I think about getting rid of my 500 I go to the range and put 3 to 5 rds through it. The big smile it brings to my face proves to me that it is worth it for another year. I have had it a long time and have put less than 80 or so rds through it. They are not practical at all but very fun. I do reload for mine so it is not as bad as it could be.
  21. When I was getting prices for health insurance for my business couple of years ago NJ was $8000 per year higher than VA for a family of 3. NJ was $23k and VA was $15k for the same exact plan. Another reason that made the decision to move business really easy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I thought it was "It's not gay while under way"
  23. Looks like Indianapolis, far from southern.
  24. I have to agree with folks about the Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle. I have one and it is a handy rifle. Handles very well and is very accurate. I have also hunted with it and it is now my #1 bolt action .308.
