In another thread somewhere I said that I'd continue to contribute to the NRA and other 2nd Amendment/Firearms groups. IMO the NRA is the face of the 2nd Amendment. They take the VAST majority of the slings and arrows while other groups can focus on litigation and legislation.

The list of guns that will be banned is pretty comprehensive. If it goes bang it's probably on the list...

The cop is lying to you and trying to scare you. Can you prove that the cash in your wallet is yours? Can you prove that the tools in the trunk are yours? Can you prove that the coat you're wearing is yours? Keep the guns and ammo separate in the trunk and don't drive like an asshole and you don't have to worry about any "what if's".

Still confused. At Cherry Ridge there was discussion about someone who bought a completed lower with from PSA (through his FFL) and had a 12.5 inch upper sent to his house. He put the two together in his basement and added a vertical foregrip to it. Two shooters said it was totally illegal but the RO said there was no way for him to know, so we should just shut up and shoot. Is slapping a complete upper and complete lower together different than putting all the pieces together yourself?

Very nice. I just moved, so I need a new FID and new permits, so in the unlikely event this hasn't sold in 2 - 3 months I'll be all over it!

Took the morning off to spend time with my oldest son (he's home from college) so we hit the Sheepdog Warrior range and we had a blast. The scenery is gorgeous, the targets were freshly painted, and the range well-maintained. I have no idea how long it takes Ed to clear the brush to keep the lines of sight open, but he does a great job. Other than my son's introduction to "scope bite" it was a perfect way to spend a morning off from work! I spoke briefly with Ed the owner to see if there was progress with the constant legal actions from the neighbor, but it's still more of the same. I really enjoy shooting there so I hope the neighbor decides to give it a rest soon.

I wet tumble and I dry pretty much the same as above. I just set them upside down like that for 24 hours and then throw them in the "clean" bucket.

I was in the clerk office in my town last week so I stopped to chat with the lady who processes permits. When I asked about her supply she turned and pointed to the printer that produces them and it looked like there were several hundred blank ones there. She said there was never an issue in the past getting them.

Unfortunately MOST people don't know how ammo is sold, so they hear 130 rounds and think it's a massive stash. The guy probably hit a "by 2 get 1 half price" sale at Dick's and still had the bag in the trunk. Definitely glad they got him before he did anything to hurt someone, but the media will run with this and splash Hollow Points, Clips, 130 Rounds, Loaded and ready to fire, in order to generate as many gasps as possible...
