Sometimes I long for the days when things were simpler. My first and second cars had power brakes, that's it. I'll tell you, when you have manual steering, it educates you as to how you should be turning, and it builds your biceps...

The crashes were probably people who couldn't manhandle the wheel when the power steering failed. Not only do you have to steer the car but you have to overcome the power steering piston.

Dont be mislead..... ALL manufacturers have recalls, very few get made public....

 

people bring in there cars for service and we check them all for Open Recalls....

I haven't read anymore about this, but if I remember correctly, your new car will not be affected. For those kind of numbers, it must be those units with the electric power steering. I believe, and this may not be correct, that the performance models (your SS) are equipped with hydraulic PS (they're both hydraulic, just one uses an electric motor to drive the hydraulic pump and one uses an accessory drive belt). Do I have that right Troy? I would assume that all the G5's have this, since there were no real preformance models of them.

We sold so few G5's .... I dont have details on Recall. But I would think it is an Electric P/Steering issue.

We have had a few G6's that lose the p/steering....

How about the cruise control fires?

 

 

No company is recall free. And yes, regardless of who makes the tire, ford still put them on their explorers so it's a ford problem as well

If the recall happens, it happens.

 

The one and only recall, knock on wood, that I had with my Mazda is a fan relay module. In mine it actually went bad. The faulty module kept the fan on the whole time.

 

No biggie. Took the car in, had a rental that I was given for 2 or 3 days, dont recall.
