Favorite Beer?

Recommended Posts

Yuengling, Magic Hat, Blue Moon, different types from the microbreweries in the Denver area. I had the chance to attend the GABF a couple times... made it through the list once. Absolutely awesome, sloppy time.

ETA: Amaretto and coke, Jameson on the rocks, or the plain jane vodka cranberry.

I used to Homebrew a few years back.

Made some decent stuff and had a good time making it.And even a better time drinking it.

Bought some Sierra Nevada Torpedo last summer. Great stuff

Also Their Celebration Ale around Christmas is great.

I make my own beer & wine.

No commercial beer or wine even come close to taste and quality.

I make different types for Summer, Fall, and winter.

The Law states: 100 gallons for an individual or 200 gallons maximum with 2 adults in the home.

You just cannot sell it or your in trouble.

200 gallons is a lot of happiness......

Ah I see two things that make me happy, homebrewers and scotch drinkers!

I'm very seasonal with my "favorite". Right now, Troegs Nugget Nectar is my favorite. As that fades out of availability I will be moving into Kolsch's and Pilsners for Spring and Summer. MMMM.

Corsendonk, blue moon (with orange slice please), sam adams summer ale (yes it's not beer), Negra Modelo, Killians, Pilsner Urquel, others I can't recall right now.

Might be easier if I say I like beer that has body, so that eliminates many common lagers what I used to drink as a twentysomething. I thank providence the American micro brew industry is alive and well.

I make exceptions and will drink almost anything when at The Star Tavern for the Best Pizza In The World. Those who have been there know what I'm talking about.

So what's on tap right now?

I currently have some Holiday "Old Ale" from 2008 that's really finally softening up. Also a Berry Ale and a English Noble Style Red Ale that are drinkable right now.

In the bottles for conditioning I have a heavily hopped Amber Ale, and a rocket fuel 22% ABW Belgian style Quad+.

Currently in the fridge is a nice Black Lager which we just racked into the secondary. Another month of fermentation is needed for that one... :)

Bud...Miller....Corona...we are talking beer, not urine water.

My Go-to is Yuengling. Especially when we have some of our bon-fires. New Castle, and Guiness rotate in sometimes.

For fun...Long Trail, Magic Hat, Harpoon, and most Vermont micro brews.

No idea how I forgot to mention new castle / guiness :?

    • If you’re going to VA, buy 2 radios.  Program one for here and one for there.  If you guys are buying Baofeng radios do yourself a favor and get a tactical antenna for it,it’ll extend your reach.
    • Both our memories are a bit lacking. 3 bystanders were hit by NYPD bullets and 6 were hit by fragments at the Empire State Building shooting. The bullets later were determined to have passed through the bad guy as I said. He was not a big guy. The police fired 16 rds and 7 hit the bad guy.  Spray and pray?  I think not.  These officers fired until the threat was stopped and everyone is moving. Have you ever tried to hit a moving target whilst you're moving.  If you watch the video from where the police encounter him, the BG draws his gun from his bag, NYPD guys shoot, and the BG hit the ground is about 2 or 3 seconds.  The closest officer is maybe 12 feet or less.  The closest cover are those concrete flower pots.  If the officers chose to take cover before drawing the BG would have had a chance to shoot at least one officer. Know your target and beyond?  Agree 100%.  However, this by the Empire State Building at 9 am during the week.  There are bystanders and traffic in every direction.  The officers had a choice of doing what they did or letting the BG shoot them with his 1911 and shoot someone else. I think they made the right choice and the same one I would have made.  The officers exercised the best option in protecting themselves and the public. The first video is the police shooting.  The second is more detailed and gives you a lot of background information on the shooter. One thing this shows is if NYPD had to use fmj undoubtedly more bystanders would have been wounded perhaps killed.  NJ's hollowpoint law. only creates more danger to the public.
