Destinydog 9 Posted December 10, 2011 Love mine!! Happy I traded my eotech for it. I was dissapointed with me eotech as it was very blury at the brightness I needed it at to see it. And it was an the latest model that cost me a bit more than this aimpoint. Can't speak for cowitness as I don't have iron sights.
RecessedFilter 222 Posted December 10, 2011 I have no say on the PRO but with the right mount, you can get any dot to co-witness.
vjf915 456 Posted December 11, 2011 I'd be interested in one....if I knew where I could get one. Last I saw they only sold to LE/MIL.

RecessedFilter 222 Posted December 11, 2011 I'm glad they finally made a NICE optic that doesn't run $500+.
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted December 11, 2011 I'm glad they finally made a NICE optic that doesn't run $500+. Yeah but if it's not available to civilians, what good is it?
hd2000fxdl 422 Posted December 11, 2011 Is it only for LE use, or can LEO's purchase it for personal use, and if so, what happens if they want to sell it down the road, do they have to sell it to another LEO or can they sell it to anyone??
papercutninja 24 Posted December 11, 2011 The restriction of sale to LE/MIL isn't a legal issue, it's a marketing issue. From what i understand, they're restricting sales of this optic to LE/MIL only because of supply issues. Don't know if this is temporary while they figure out ways to ramp up production (it's been out for over a year now), or if they just don't have the capacity to produce more. vladtepes 1,060 Posted December 11, 2011 they are offering an optic to people to utilize for LEO or MIL work at a reduced cost.. my assumption is they restrict sale of this optic as to not compete with their normal civilian market..
papercutninja 24 Posted December 11, 2011 ^ That makes sense.
raz-0 1,259 Posted December 12, 2011 They gouge the civilian market. If you place large institutional orders you don't get gouged. However lots of small departments do not do procurement in that manner, and aimpoint was losing business in that market to slightly cheaper competition. So they came out with the pro, but tell their sellers to restrict sales so they can continue to gouge the civilian market.
shooter28 153 Posted December 12, 2011 buy thru LaRue Tactical. No military/LE check and you can get one of the best mounts out there
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted December 12, 2011 You can get a PSA AR15 "Patrol carbine" with the PRO... http://www.palmettostatearmory.com/2557.php
vjf915 456 Posted December 13, 2011 Nick, I have to assume that PSA pays you for how much you advertise for them

papercutninja 24 Posted December 13, 2011 buy thru LaRue Tactical. No military/LE check and you can get one of the best mounts out there You can buy without LEO/MIL restriction there, but it costs (with the Larue Mount), $555, which is $9 MORE than a Comp ML2 (with Larue Mount), thereby defeating the purpose of having a "cheap" Aimpoint PRO. I'm extremely confused by their pricing on these optics. I suppose the PRO also includes the standard Aimpoint mount, but who needs 2 mounts for a single optic? alowerlevel 77 Posted December 13, 2011 Or just buy it from Primary Arms (post #7 in this thread) They say nothing about only selling to Mil/LE

Steve_G 51 Posted December 23, 2011 What is the difference between the PRO and the Comp M3? Other than the price.
vladtepes 1,060 Posted December 23, 2011 M3 has 2 OR 4 MOA dot availability I find the 4 MOA dot the PRO has to be plenty adecquite.. I had a 2MOA dot so can compare.. Pro comes WITH mount a mount that at first glanse was eh.. but now that I have it in hand.. is pretty nice.. ESPECIALLY considering I paid nothing for it.. LOL M3 has slightly more battery time but in the context of an Aimpoint which you could leave on for years.. MOOT point IMO... Aimpoint PRO hands down.. well worth it.. great optic for the money..
